Rotflmao. I know we don't have much material, but I'd rather see pics of new cruits moving in. No offense to crump and tnet staff but I think a better article would be _______ .
Until the Heisman decides to have an overhaul on how it's selected, Clemson won't win one, nor should they. I'll take what we have over a player trophy any day.

I agree with all but the "nor should they" comment. Our guys should have won the award , at least a couple of times, IMO, but that's only because we had the best player in the country those years. Whitehurst would have been the first, and Watson the second. Granted, I'm pretty prejudiced, but nobody was better than those 2 guys. I don't have much respect for the award now. I had hoped that Trevor would win it, but after the shellacking the other night I doubt that happens. Win the award, or not, I surely have enjoyed watching those stars play. Our program has been so blessed, no doubt!

True, but TL had a chance to be robbed like DW4. Now the only people thinking it are a few Clemson fans. He doesn’t have the wins or the stats, sorry but he doesnt

Bryce Young and Rattler should be favorites, but DJ will have a good chance if he plays in the 4th quarter.

them manner in which Dabo prefers to liberally substitutes the starters will make it much more difficult for a Clemson player to win the Heisman.
I'm good with it though. The Heisman has been dead to me since it was stolen from DW4.

Passing attempts per game of Heisman finalist QBs
Jan 4, 2021, 11:29 AM
|
|
Lawrence - 334 attempts in 10 games. 33.40 per game Jones - 357 attempts in 12 games. 29.75 per game Trask - 437 attempts in 12 games. 36.42 per game
Right now I would say Mac Jones is the favorite to win (unless Smith gets it) despite throwing less passes per game than either of the other QB finalists.

What a joke. What Clemson fan thinks we'll ever have a Heisman winner? Has the winner been announced for this year yet?

That is as close as a Clemson player will get. Rattler is already ESPN's choice. They are already pumping him. Barring injury, it is his.

I thought everyone was sick of QBs getting it and they now feel some runningbacks and recievers and longsnappers should get it??? Or was that just for THIS year??? The Heisman is a joke.

DJ will be the first Clemson player to break that barrier. The next two years will be great for DJ and Clemson. Back to back CFP champions. '21- '22. The greatest team ever label will be out to the test in '22 as well. Write it down. Chisel it in stone.

Hope you're right, but we better get a better OL and be better at DB and Safety if we want to win it all. JMO

I truly believe what I said. The peices are coming together and this Clemson team(s) will be the best we Tigers fans have had the pleasure of rooting for. Trust me
Carman should come back, and he will be a huge key to the offensive success early on if he does indeed return. Carman has a chance to take that next step into the upper echelon of LT's and become a no doubt 1st rounder. Parks has already showed glimpses of being a true force at the RT spot.
Honestly I would love to see Carman and Leigh on the left side with Parks and Putnam ( or whomever steps up out of the returning freshman) Slide McFadden over to center, and let this line gel.
Maybe Linthicum will be an instant plug and play at center and then it would be Carman and Leigh on the left with Parks and McFadden on the right.
The offensive line will be a lot stronger than it was this past season and they should really be something to behold come '22.
The defensive line will have experience. The LB core will be getting an enormous #### in the arm with Carter and Trotter to line up with Simpson. Jones Jr, Bentley, Patterson and McGuire will all be more experienced.
The WR position is the one I'm most concerned with, but there is plenty of talent there. Ngata and Ladson both have to step up and excel in '21 if either have any fantasies of going to the NFL early. Praying Ross is healthy enough to pursue his dream of playing football, and if not just pray for him on his next path. Powell should come back and he would be the clear go to guy. Maybe Ajou Ajou will break out. Collins and DJ already have a connection, so there is that.
Shipley should be the rb who makes huge plays as a receiver out of the backfield, like ETN has been doing. Shipley is a home run hitter carrying the rock as well.
My apologies for the long reply, just got carried away.

With all due respect when I heard the announcer say in the pregame “And Trevor Lawrence who was the Heisman favorite until missing a couple games due to COVID” any and all mention of that paper weight should be kept off this site. I haven’t taken it seriously since Andre Ware in the late 80s, Michigan/ESPN was able to push Woodson over Manning in the late 90s (that’s right kids - the 4 letter actually used to push Big 10 players over SEC players before acquiring rights to the SEC), and trashy names like Torretta, Bradford, Rashaan Salaam etc since the late 80s has completely worn the luster off the award.

2 Thoughts...

1. An award given out before the season actually ends is about as stupid as it can be
2. With Dabo at Coach event the most gifted player will never win a Heisman here - they will never enjoy the gaudy numbers that come from RUTS in the 3rd and 4th quarters (though our depth certainly was Non-existent against OSU)

The times when Heisman and Clemson were never mentioned in the same sentence and now it happens multiple times every day, and yet, some of you complain! Very difficult for me to understand some of you fans who I know are rabid Tiger followers. I get goosebumps every time I turn on the tv and see that amazing tiger paw on display for all the world to see. Where did we come from and how did we get to this level of fame and fortune?

DJ will NOT win the Heisman for the same reasons that DW4 and TL16 did not.
