Coots picked up another quality transfer

It might be a flash in the pan, but the Gamecocks stand to dramatically improve with portable transfers. they got a good QB, good TE and now as good WR. That will probably help their overall recruiting.
In the end its like the NY Yankees. We all love to see a team spend all its chits to still not win.

I do expect them to be a lot better this year. I bet they will be pretty good actually. 9 wins wouldn't shock me depending on their schedule with what they have getting more experience and the QB, TE, WR, and RB they have added.

Good points un. They actually got a good class coming in. I know that no-one on here wants to hear it, but they had injuries on their oline all year like we did. Every injury they had was magnified because they had zero depth. Muscoot left them with nothing. Will they compete for the SEC next year, no. But I'd watch that cat Shane. He'll build a good competitive program. Possibly win the east in next 3 years.

What is good for the coots is good for us. I never want to lose to them but it means more when we can spoil a good season and not simply when a game that we should. The rivalry has gotten a little stale and even the empty stadium in Columbia at halftime does not bring me the same joy. I am ready for them to present a challenge again. It makes victory that much better.
It is comical when they drop games to powerhouses like the Citadel but I won't mind them trying to help us recreate the perception as South Carolina as a great state for football.
Go Tigers - Dominate the Coots.

My father used to tell me

that it was my duty as a proper Clemson fan to want SCar to go winless every year. He said it wasn’t a matter of hating them (although he never specifically told me I shouldn’t) but a matter of recruiting. We wanted every in state prospect to the Clemson and only Clemson.
I can’t say that he was wrong.

That's great. You can keep your opinion and 'TD' me all you want. The coots can't challenge us for any recruits that we want to target and they know it. Tell me who we have lost out on to them. Jordan Burch is hardly a loss, he has ONE sack the last TWO seasons - good riddance. Josh Belk? He is still trying to find a semi-pro football contract because he couldn't even cut it as a coot. Feaster? He wasn't even their starter. Since Dabo turned our program around we have been competing for recruits on a national level. We don't have to worry about in-state, it takes care of itself. Winners grow up wanting to play for a winner. Every real winner growing up in this state knows where they belong.
Their team is pathetic and hasn't been on our level in nearly a decade. We should be riding an 8 year win streak but COVID saved them for a year. It means nothing to whip up on a defenseless loser like our inferior neighbors. We aren't bullies, we're winners. Winners don't care if their opponent is undefeated or winless.
72-42-4
When they reel off a 30 game win streak I'll start to worry. I won't hold my breath. As Dabo says, "My kids grandkids won't ever live long enough to ever see this become a rivalry. It is what it is."
Tweet That!
https://www.wltx.com/article/sports/ncaa/clemson-tigers/dabo-slams-usc-theyll-never-be-clemson/101-377112193Dabo Slams USC: They'll Never Be Clemson Clemson isn't South Carolina. "That's why Carolina's in Chapel Hill and USC's in California and the University in this state always has been always will be..Clemson." All said by Dabo Swinney-- but perhaps, all for nought.

I didn't TD you. My previous comments are still valid. Scar can lose all of their games and we would be better playing USC or OSU every year than Scar. And finally, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syV2LkGpQB0

How do you figure they had a good class? It’s littered with 3 stars. Not arguing your point just like your take on their class.

It seemed like she was just talking about the quality transfer portal players they are picking up. No way Beamer flips the ###### so fast with the HS recruits. Each of their portal players should make an impact for them.

I think Beamer might very well be the best coach they have had in a long time and I think he will be successful. I just don't think he will win very many at the end of November. The streak will continue and the W/L record will continue to widen but the coots should have some success soon. Hey they might even get there 5th 10 win season all-time in the next couple years. Don't worry though because none of them will be against us. We own this state and it's not close

username checks out..
I will leave it as this.. if we picked up the players they did in the portal, our fanbase would have a meltdown..
For example, the QB has a reputation for being a locker room cancer and was beat out by a freshman. Is he better than what they have on the roster? absolutely. But Clemson wouldn't take him.
The TE? He was injured and never made it back into the rotation. Could he pan out? sure. But lets not act like he is a sure bet.
The WR? I actually like this pick up. But, let's be real. If Clemson signed a transfer portal WR from Old Dominion, do you think we would be singing in the streets? Who knows how he will do. The Gamecocks picked up a OLB last year from GA St that led the NCAA in sacks. He couldn't crack the line up last year. Excelling in lower competition is no guarantee of success.
In sum, good picks up for them, a lower class program with an overall lack of talent. But, its not like they beat out Bama, Clemson, Ohio St, and UGA for these players.

Sure uof7c won a couple more games in Beamer's first year but let's be honest, they were not a good team. In fact, other than Bama and Georgia, the rest of the $EC was a total train wreck in 2021. While they did manage to eek out a few more wins than most anticipated, it wasn't a matter of the Capons getting better. It was more a case of some other teams declining to uof7c's level (i.e., Florida and Auburn). In fact, they only beat one team that finished the year with a winning record. By all accounts, Clemson had a down year yet still shut-out the Dirt Peckers at their place 30 to snap and the game wasn't really that close, and frankly, the 2022 game won't be that close either.

Quality transfers? Why bc they said so? Sorry but I don't get the excitement of bringing in guys that couldn't cut it somewhere else. Either they couldn't hack it somewhere else or they brought in a player that was good in the FCS. Sorry but don't know why anyone believes they are bettering their team taking a bunch of transfers. One or 2 fine but thinking you are flipping your roster with a bunch of scrubs off other teams, I don't see it.

I'll believe when I see it. When I see that they have to stop relying on the other team to screw up in order for them to win, then I'll say they're better. But banking on Vandy to go prevent late and give them the GW TD doesn't cut it, or banking on ECU to just throw a pick 6 before the half to make it 14-7 instead of just taking the fg and going up 17-0 at the half. That was 2 given losses that should've had them at 4-8 on the season and no bowl game. Troy and AU wasn't pretty at all either. They improve, but bringing in that many new players could take some time to build chemistry for everything to work. Not to mention, Rattler failed on a team with more talent against worse defenses, now he's on a team with less talent against better defenses. We'll see

Mark it down you heard it hear first. There is an outside shot that SC could win the East again before I pass, but I will bet highly unlikely. Only reason being the East besides GA is not very strong at least right now. Tenn always seems to be trending upwards in my opinion but is still not there. I would expect Napier to do well at Florida but I thought that about Mullen as well. Again Beamer is a good man I’m sure, may be a great coach, still not sure but SC will never win the SEC period. EVER. Just not in their DNA. Now if we want to talk some women’s basketball then there is a great possibility for really big things for SC. When they start winning the recruiting battle in SC then it will be time to get concerned, but a boat load of 3 stars should not strike fear in anyone on their schedule.

just what is a portable transfer? ?? I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you could put Joe Burrow at QB behind that OL and you’d still be watching the same caliber team lose and lose again because they are sorry coots.

Bad teams can offer players immediate playing time and 1 year players. But that is long term fools gold. No chemistry. No loyalty.

Underestimating the coots is bad for business. They have an energetic "game manager" who seems to understand what he needs to compete. They won more this year than many thought possible with mediocre players on paper.
