Bama wasn't very good in the 80s. Bama has had periods of mediocrity like everyone else.

Not knocking what you are saying but the 1950's were 60-70 years ago... pre-civil rights days.

1974...was played at Rice Stadium. Last Superbowl to use goal posts at the front of the end zone.

Wasn't Rice part of the old SWC (Southwestern Conf) where they went back and forth with SMU days of the Pony Express.... Back when players took a pay cut to go pro. We might be getting back to that with the NIL.
The NCAA is the most Un-American organization out there. Bunch of college presidents got together back in the day saying they wanted to make an organization to that pretended to care about taking care of the college athlete when only it was to keep the money for themselves. I'm all for the players getting the money. Better them than the coaches or administrators.
Let the free market go....

UT's record against them would be 8-0-1.
That was a seriously lucky "break" for Alabama.

I'm shocked ULM isn't on that list.
I wonder when Bama played them other than Saban's first year.

ULM vs Bama is a 1-1 record. They have played twice as far as I can find.

People can say what they want about Hatfield, but he was a good transitional coach to help Clemson recover from the recruiting violations it suffered at the end of Danny Ford's tenure. Arguably he was better than any of the other coaches Clemson had between Ford and Swinney. He suffered mainly from the expectation that Clemson should woin the title every year after Ford one one...same expectation that Dabo is suffering from now.
Shoot me as I am also partial because my wife is a Hatfield and distant relative of Ken's.
