I spoke to a UNC grad who was surprised at the huge majority of the fans being Orange clad, but had an interesting thought as to why. He said the schools got their allotments of ~10000, and those were all with their respective fans, but the huge difference was with the tickets not assigned directly to a team. In CU's case, we knew a week earlier that we were in and used that time to gobble up all those tickets.

They had on some UNC alumni that played in the NFL. He was a total homer, and you could tell he hadnt really been paying much attention to things. He said something like, the tigers arent going to know how to handle the stadium being full of Carolina Blue. We are in North Carolina. Then one of the host got to inform him, that the Tigers bought up all the tickets. He was crushed.

UNC fans could've purchased their tickets the same week I did, or even before. When I bought mine we were only 3-0 in the conference and I'm assuming UNC had a similar record at the time.

several folks i know both ACCCG tix before the Tigers beat FSU, but a bunch more bought them within a few days of the FSU win

My seats were next to some Tar Heels (about the only ones in our section). They were fine. Didn't cheer, didn't talk. The lady next to me didn't like all the standing up. Truly don't know why they were there, didn't seem to have any interest.
