stomach virus I have ever had in my 69 years on earth. It hit me right about the time the Super Bowl was ending, and for the next TWENTY FOUR HOURS, I was vomiting every 30 to 45 minutes. And even when it wasn't hitting, it was constant nausea. Couldn't sit up, couldn't lie down, any position seemed to make the nausea worse. I lost 12 pounds in one day.
The reason I say BEWARE is that I got my wife to call our family doc, and she said it is going around right now. And the worst thing, nothing to be done from a medicine standpoint, unless it got to the point of going to the Emergency Room. Despite six hour waits, I really did consider it at one point yesterday, but decided to try to follow her advice, and force some sugar free Gatorade down. Maybe a third of a small bottle before it, too came back up.
After sitting up in my recliner until midnight last night, just from pure exhaustion, decided to try and lie down again. One more bout of vomiting, and then, sometime after 1 am, finally, some blessed, blessed, sleep. Nausea is mostly gone now, but I am weak as a kitten from not having eaten or drank anything for over 24 hours. That includes medicines for back pain, diabetes, etc. I knew they would just be down the sink 30 minutes after I took them. I knew this because, early on, I did try to take some of the tiny anti-nausea pills that my son has. They came up about 15 minutes later.
I honestly would not even wish this thing on my worst Coot enemy, that's how bad it is. All I can say is, if you get it, may God have mercy on your soul.

Hit that Gatorade or other fluids as you are able. Sorry you had it bad but glad you are on the mend now.

Doubt you want to hear it right now but skip the Gatorade with artificial colors and sugars and take some high quality sea salt then chug water with a dash of apple cider vinegar. Much better for you and hydrates better with electrolytes.
If you want to clean out your entire system you could take castor oil, but be ready to sit on the toilet all day.

If you still can't keep anything down, especially meds, then it's probably time to go to the er. Or at least to an urgent care, not doc in the box but actual urgent care. They can at least give you an iv nausea med and maybe iv fluids.

Sorry to hear you’re feeling lousy. Pedialyte is very good for replacing fluids and electrolytes. It can be found in grocery stores and pharmacies. Good luck and quick recovery!

My grandson gave my wife and I the daycare crud from Hell about two weeks ago. Cough, headache, sinus drainage, earache, etc.
It just keeps going and going. Ready to feel well again.

Mine was the same time frame , but on the other end. Not pleasant, but I hate throwing up, so I was good. Felling a lot better today.

Sorry you had such an awful ordeal, 76er, but glad you're starting to feel better. Ginger ale and soda crackers are the only thing I can get to stay down after one of these, followed by either Pedialite or Gatorade.

We just had a pretty bad bug go through our house recently, not nearly as bad as what you had but it was both ends and it just totally ravaged my kids. They where pale with sunken eyes, couldn't eat or drink it was horrible.

Dang I hate to hear that. Continue on those fluids and rest. Sounds like it may take a few days to recover from all of that. Take care of yourself!

It lasted four days. My BP top number dropped to 85 and I lost control of all body functions. I could not eat for two days. Doc got me a pill for my stomach and I pushed fluids. Day three I finally felt like eating something. Hang in there. I feel for you.

This happened to me in about 2007. Lost 12-15 pounds in 24 hours. Mom had to call doctor to get anti nausea suppositories couldn’t even keep a sip of water down.

I’m just getting over it this morning. Last 24 hours were horrible. Same as what you just described but both ends for me. Try one of the Gatorade Zero mixed half and half with water. Gatorade Zero still has a ton of artificial sweeteners so it isn’t really the greatest thing for you on a bad stomach.

Sounds like food poisoning to me. If you can't get pay 24 hours, you might need to go get an Iv and a shot.
