Got friend (none of you know her) she's very liberal and always posting anti Repub/Trump stuff. I can deal with that and just keep scrolling. I got a bit of liberal in me.
The straw that broke the camels back. Someone posted a pic of flag draped coffins in a C130 saying thank you and pray for the families.
Her reply was I'm not bowing my head or bending a knee to the sky fairy or his so called son. Then blah blah Bush/Trump this and that.

all things. It seems irrational that one's non belief in God would become a stated reason for a giant eff u to anyone and everyone in the most solemn circumstance, but we see it all the time. Anger is that blinding and generalized, and we are fast becoming a culture of anger. There is a lot of room for compassion there - something unpleasant early on caused that anger - but yes, when someone is shooting a hole in the boat you have to cut them loose.
One reason this is interesting to me is that I have said in here before that I go to a couple of AA meetings per week. The AA approach is founded on two basic ideas: (1) Fear/anger are the foundational negative emotions that drive our attitudes and behavior and (2) there is a God who will bring order to this. Within the most individualistic and irreverent (toward religious tradition) environment you ever saw, people typically start reluctant to square those two concepts, then, almost without exception, sobriety and those two concepts develop together. Story after story tells of how that happens at the individual level.
I think this is universal. Most inebriated people (not sober) happen to not be alcoholics. We just have different expressions of it.
