Mostly watched the Masters and recovered from jet lag.
Spent last week in Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon Nat'l Parks and a couple of days around Lake Tahoe. Beautiful part of the world.
9.77/10 would dew a gin, but will upgrade to 1st for the flights.

Had my printer working pretty good on Friday…printing up wedding invitations. Headed out early Saturday on my moped and sold a few – made some real nice change! Decided that the printing service is an Amazing way to may some extra cheddar so will be at it again soon. Hope to see some of you again… maybe you can get a discount for being a repeat customer.
Got my first oil change in my RAM 1500. Crypto continues to pad the future. BBQ Chicken on the grill. Master’s on TV. Sunday church. Capped it off with a movie – Thunder Force. OK movie.

Friday yardwork, getting bermuda ready for summer. Saturday tennis match, then rain. Watched Masters, glad he was able to hang on. Braves game and umpires pissed me off.

Saturday - Finishing assembling my sons new bedroom furniture. Effing Ikea. Watched the Masters.
Sunday - Got my 2nd shot. I'm now in full compliance with Pfizer 5G and microchip. Watched the Masters. Did all the lawnwork.
Meh - 6 out of 10.

Friday, went to hang out with RH Mom after work, came home and made a pizza, drank some beers, watched some TV. Don't even remember what, other than downloading the streaming AXS TV app. It has some decent music-related content for free.
Saturday, Mrs. and I had out traditional vinyl Select-O-Pick Saturday morning, then got busy doing work around the house and then outside trying to beat the rain. Went to visit RH Mom late afternoon. Joonyer and his fiance came over and brought BBQ and sides from Blue Smokehouse as a thank you for keeping their two pups all last week. Flipped around to what was on the AXS app, then bed.
Sunday, cleaned up kitchen from Saturday night, then more yard stuff, then grocery run. Back home to put groceries away, walk the pup, practiced a few new tunes for about an hour. Made tacos out of the leftover brisket and had a few beers, then flopped into the Big Chair and was lazy the rest of the night.
18.25/19 Covids, got a lot of work done around the compound but other than hanging out with Joonyer Saturday night...no weekend excitement.

Woke up Friday morning to terrible thunder storms in Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan, AL. Never got real warm, stayed on the beach in a hoodie for a while. Ate Tacky Jacks take-out for dinner, blackened Grouper, gator bites, fried crawfish tails, etc.
Saturday morning woke up to some god-awful storms. Storm first hit around 2:30 AM and woke me up with the house shaking and wind whipping. Then it calmed down and I went partially back to sleep. Around 6:00 it started back up and was even worse, we were on the 2nd floor of the house and we could feel it swaying back and forth. The kids were above us and came running down. Hail was loud AF but all the cars were under the house so they were protected. We saw quite a few cars with busted windows and hail dents all over them driving back Sunday. Got up and packed in the storm and drove through the back of the storm to New Orleans. Got there and found the hotel (Royal Sonesta) and checked in. 30 seconds on Bourbon Street and kids had seen more than they ever saw in their life. Headed to Jackson Square and French Market to eat. Grabbed a REAL late lunch and started drinking. Went to Tujaques's to get a couple drinks and learned they moved locations in December. Turned and went to the new location, more drinks, back to hotel room. Got a decent buzz going on so we get ready for dinner and hit Bourbon Street again to walk to dinner. We are ahead of reservation time so I grab a hand grenade and chug it while we walk. Buzz still maintaining, so we hit restaurant. This is when it all came crashing down. The waiter was terrible, slow AF, just all around a dud. Wife had a drink but I didn't because he never came back to get my drink order until the buzz was gone. Eff that. Had oysters, crawfish etoufee, red beans and rice, and gumbo. RB&R were the best, Mambo's sauce on the chargrilled oysters was too overpowering, I was hoping for Drago's-esque but was disappointed. Kids were absolutely spent so we went to bed around 930 or 10.
Woke up early for breakfast reservations at Oceana and see Bourbon Street kinda clean. Back to Jackson Square and to the Cathedral to walk in. Shopped a little then hit the road, 13.5 hours in the car, home by midnight, tired AF this morning.

Friday - picked up mexican take out, played in the yard with the kids, bed time was fairly early. I drank some local IPA's that my neighbor brought over a long time ago and got a bit tipsy. They were gross too. I just kept opening them and trying them and then drain pouring.
Saturday - baseball practice, swim lessons, gymnastics. It was a beautiful day, so my son and I went to the dirt RC track and took our cars/trucks out there to race around. Wife and daughter did scooters and biked around the park. Came home, just laid around on the couch. Wife left and went to go shopping with friends and then over to house party/wine night. I then took the kids to inlaws and was a free man. Went and bought a baseketball goal to be installed, then I grabbed some pizza and headed home. The rest is beer, liquor, Uber, Greektown Casino, American Coney Island, Greektown Casino, Barstool Sportsbook, MGM (for like 10 minutes, my bud got kicked out for being drunk and loud) Uber and in bed by 3am.
Sunday - wake up to a splitting headache, remedy that very quickly with some good meds. Cleaned house, did laundry and kids and wife showed back up around 11am. By 11:10am, the whole house was a mess again. VERY LAZY Sunday, we did zilch. Cartoons, play outside for a bit, coloring, cartoons. Just zero for everyone. I did pick up a growler, but after one and maybe half, I put it away.
8/10 - minus two points because it got below 60 again.

Saturday morning, trip to Home Depot to buy supplies to build a new shoe bench for the foyer and a gate for the back deck (non-pallet) to contain the now walking toddlers. Return from Home Depot Tom find my wife opening a beverage and informing me her friends were coming over and I was watching the chirrens. Well, ok then. She stays pretty much on baby duty 24/7, so I don’t mind her having an occasional fun day. However, she is also the one bugging me to get these projects done, so whatevs. Friends come over, drink heavily, sit out on the deck and drop F bombs one after another until about midnight, so maybe that explains why the neighbors don’t come by more often.
Sunday morning, wake up and make breakfast for the younguns. Friends of stop by to give me my car keys...apparently wife of decided to let her friend drive my car home last night instead of taking a Uber. Needless to say, somebody bout got shot. Piddled around till bout 11:30, then took lilmissgrouching to the Orioles game. Orioles lost cause they suck, but it was a beautiful day at Orioles Park at Camden Yards, and daughter had a blast, so success overall. Came home, made dinner, went to bed fairly early.
Back to the grind today.

Did an overnighter hiking trip through Francis Marion Sat-Sun. 5 of us met at 6:45am on Sat, grabbed brefiss, and headed out. Only a 30 minute drive or so (which will be important, as explained later), plus another 10 after dropping the first vehicle off. Hit the trail shortly after 8am.
Think I was packed out at around 36 lbs., which seemed reasonable. Everything still kosher at 2.5-3 miles, and figured it'd be like that for the whole trip since FM is as flat as your mother. That 36 lbs. got to work on my knees over the next 6-7 miles, and they were the angriest body parts at the end of Day 1. Errthing else just sore, but not angry. 800mg of ibuprofen subsided most of the inflammation and anger.
Got to test out muh new Big Agnes single, 2 lbs. fully packed out; worked like a champ. Also digging the REI hiking chair in this pic, 1 lb. 10 oz. packed, and would have been the most coveted item on the trip had the rangers not put benches at a couple of the campsites over the past year or two.
Turns out, the most coveted item was...water. All 5 of us ran short because, dunno, I guess it was hotter and we drank more than expected? I was going to bring a second 2L bladder, but of the 3 packs I had, only 1 appeared functional and with all the needed parts on Saturday morning. So I had 2L, plus 2 1L Nalgenes, and 4L of water just ain't enough for a 20 mile overnight hike, especially with no water filter at any point in dryass FM. So Saturday night was a bunch of decision making about whether to forgo a 1.5 cups of water for a Mountain House biscuits and gravy, or skip coffee in the morning, and conserve my last single L of water for the 10 remaining miles.
FORTUNATELY...one of the guys' wives REALLY loves him, after calling him and the rest of us "fucking idiots" for running out of water. She delivered 2 gallons of water to us at 9am on Sunday, so we got to make brefiss and coffee to go with the whiskey, and spirits were lifted. We also used that unexpected windfall to dump some gear we no longer needed into the back of the Jeep--I offed my tent, chair, bag, and sleeping pad, and lost a good 8-9 lbs. in the process. That ended up making a YUGE difference on Sunday, as my knees held up just fine. I might have a 25-30 lb. weight limit for these things at my advanced age.
Lots of controlled burn/firebreaks
Slept like a behbeh last night.

"Manhood Camping" trip.
Manhood Camping Firequest. Lookin' for a 100% for real bros to share/experience manhood in all its glory. This is for real, I don't want to waste my time or yours. 100% JO and manhood, no sugar added. I AM NOT GAY. Don't even think this is a sex thing, it's all about manhood.
Looking for bros to head into the woods and bond by fire, experience life as men once lived it, JO circle, and fire/vision quests.
THIS IS NOT A SEX THING.
Gonna need some basic things/skills, I don't want to be slowed down by fools:
- must be in reasonable shape, if you get winded walking then stay home - Ed Hardy camping gear, it's really good gear and it's awesome - desire to be a man among men - not afraid to wield a blade - crystal, I'm not sharing mine - must be able to make a fire - gloves - a knowledge of native vegetation (knowledge of psychotropic fungus a plus) - knowledge of modern music - protective/splash resistant eye wear - 5 - 10 of those clip things that rock climbers use
We are gonna need a mobile music device, ipod or something. I'm bringing the music for the firequests and visionquests, Nickleback's The Long Road. I only have it on CD, so I'll have my discman as a last resort, an ipod would be nicer. Just sayin'.
Dont' want to see"
- bad attitudes - gay/homoerotic behavior, this is a manhood thing. I AM NOT GAY. - #### rings, can't keep it up w/o help, you aren't gonna make it on this quest - firearms, there's gonna be enough guns going off and spent shells to pick up - the nerds/dorks/lames/and anyone less than 100% into manhood.
If you are serious, then I promise you this will be the trip of your life. It will change the way you think. I'm serious, and I AM NOT GAY. To see a group of bros being men, a JO circle by a camp fire. The charge/energy in the air. Crystals get jacked, no lie. You will slip into a different frame of mind, you will feel electric.
Last outing, we had a group that was so charged we attracted bears. It was no deal, nature knew man was in the forest, the crystals gave us the confidence to own those bears. I saw it, I was there.
100% SERIOUS, NO FAKERS

of the glass bottle, so that was at least half the weight (that he had to lug out of the woods, too). We all "shared", but he was way more focused on getting a buzz than everybody else, so the "sharing" part was mostly him killing his bottle with occasional nips from everybody else, and then him seeking out every other flask laying around. I put some Russell's Reserve single barrel in a pint Nalgene, which was delightful, but had I realized how much of it was going to the guy who couldn't even taste or appreciate it at that point, I would have gone with something cheaper and more replaceable.

Friday: grilled hamburgers and made homemade ice cream. A lot of great conversation.
Saturday: Worked little. Looked for toolbox and sprayer at Agri-Supply. Made a fire and "cooked" meat on a stick with MfOjr. Listened to music and dodged raindrops. Watched a little TV.
Sunday: Worked very little. Ate lunch with MfOmom and MfOjr. Took jr. back to his mom's. Watched race and Master's. Grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. Washed clothes, read and bed.

went to Aiken/Daytona/Orlando last week for kid's spring break.
Orlando was more crowded than I've ever seen it. Confluence of Easter, spring break, stimulus, and everyone having been cooped up from COVID. We did hit Blizzard Beach and Animal Kingdom while there. They weren't so bad since the parks are operating at reduced capacity.
Drove back from Orlando to Anderson on Friday, which turned into a 13 hr trip including stops and all of the wrecks on I-95 (6 I think). Got home at 10pm.
Didn't do sheet on Saturday, except go to grocery store and watch Masters.
Sunday...'bout the same, but I did play BB with son-of who beat me for the first time 1-on-1. He will receive full-on beat down now next time we play. Watched Masters and cooked tacos and fajitas for dinner.

my son is really into basketball and they were doing $500 off, plus installation. So I went over there and picked out the one I wanted. The lady then tells me, well its free installation if you dig the hole and place the anchor. I was like......lady, look at my leg, do you see this boot, yeah that means I have a broke leg, I can't dig a hole.
She still gave me the free installation and they are doing the anchor.
This is about the 1,237th I have used my broken leg to my advantage.
I cant wait till my son can beat me, that will be awesome. Until its not.

Two Faintings and a Funeral......
Apr 12, 2021, 9:07 AM
|
|
So SIL is 7 mos preggers and passed out in a store. So she went to the hospital. Everything is fine. But she skipped cousin-in-law 3 times removed funeral. Well, at the funeral some dude fainted. He was taken in an ambulance. He actually works with SIL's husband (BIL), who was also not at the funeral because SIL fainted.
Bought mom another 4 months of groceries, did a little work. Took son to buy some hiking boots for Boy Scouts (expensive). Well, get home and he's limping around. Asked and he showed me his toe he hurt on the trampoline. Black, nasty bruise on his little toe (prolly broken). So call grand pooh bah at Boy Scouts and tell him he won't make the 5-mile hike at Congaree Swamp. Thought of returning boots but know he will need them anyway eventually, before he outgrows them in 6 months anyway. Then called carpool milf neighbor lady and told her we couldn't swap around like normal doing drop off and pick up because son of broke toe.
Wife and inlaws attended funeral as it was a light representation because of all the stuff going on. Mom's shed lock doesn't work, had to remove the hinges to treat her water. Need now to go buy new hinges and a new combination lock for her by next weekend. Takes a phillips screwdriver to get in now.
Bourbon was Maker's Friday night, and Breckenridge on Sat and Sun night. Cooked some awesome chicken last night, with cheese and BACON.
As I kept the kids while wife at funeral, 3yo brought me a toy that didn't work. Replaced batteries. It then worked. He then proceeded to pitch a fit. Tossed the toy. So I chunked the toy in the garbage. He melted down some more. Anyway, last night brought the toy back, removed all the new batteries, so it's broken again. He saw it and was so happy it is back and "fixed" now.
That's about it.

spent the long weekend in Tennessee. Went down to Sugarland Distillery and stocked up. Spent the rest of the time soaking in the hot tub, drinking, and complaining about Gaitlinburg.
Gaitlinburg is the Wal-mart of the mountains.
Got to meet Digger from Moonshiners. Bought some stuff off him.
Great dude.

Thurs - Masters
Fri - Masters
Sat - Masters
Sun - Masters
Saw TLaw at the Masters. Gave him a fist bump and a "Go Tigers." All of my picks (Cantlay, Rory, JT) pretty much shitted the bed. Almost got plunked in the noggin by Dylan Fritelli. But saw some good golf, ate at Longhorn's in Augusta with my brothers and a buddy, thus keeping alive a long standing tradition started by my dad and buddy's father in law. Drank a lot of beer in the evenings, since we are not allowed to drink on the course even if we are not working Saw some good golf, some bad golf, and a lot of lovely spring fashions, ifyouknowwhati'msaying. Matsuyama will be a good champion, but wish he would learn some Engrish. Overall a good weekend, but pretty tired and back to reality, 9.5/10 egg salad sandwiches, with small deduction for Saturday weather delay.

I was watching the pre-game coverage yesterday and they had a special on 1986. Seems like just yesterday.

I actually picked up a box of goo-goo clusters at Cracker Barrel a few months ago. Still good
"I'll take 2 egg salad sammies, 2 ham and cheese on rye, 2 goo goo clusters, and a coke"
"That will be $10 sir"

Mildly sore arm Saturday and Sunday.
Only ran 7 miles Saturday morning around a one mile track at the local park. If side effects kicked I didn't want to walk 5 miles back to the car, but I had no side effects.
8 mile trail run on Sunday, still no side effects.

Why are you still going to weddings? You can tell your wife that she won.
