Alabama, playing in the SEC West, going 7-1 in conference and 11-1 overall does not have the resume to make it into a 4 team playoff right now. They will need to back into the cfp. Alabama needs help from TCU and Ohio State to be a playoff team.

When Miss St gets thrown out of the Top 25 on Tueday Bama will only have 1 Top 25 Win, the same amount Wisconsin has (Northwestern) to date. Now so many are saying Wisconsin has to win the B1G title to game to make it in. Bama doesn't have that option, so they should already be eliminated.

Anything can happen but they made the mistake of putting a one loss team which didn't have a conference championship in the playoff last year. Maybe they learned that if you can't win your division you don't belong in the playoff. O31O

Bama's problem, I think, is their SOS, W/L against top 25...

teams and best win. When SOS (~60+) isn't considered the eyetest is a meaningless rationalization.

I excuse those guys who do the late talks due to their fatigue from working so many long hours. If I didn't I'd say they were complete idiots devoid of logic and missing reason.

The only thing that's changed much about the SEC is the Playoff System and a few decent out of conference games. The playoff committee didn't respect the three cupcakes most SEC teams played every year. The SEC gathered a few P5 teams to replace some of the cupcakes and got exposed as an average conference.

Remember the first PO rankings? They had three SEC teams in the first one, Skip Bayless had four in his. The following year they had only a couple SEC teams. As the years have passed the final ranking have begun to influence the early and preseason polls which have traditionally put 8 to 12 SEC teams in the top 25 preseason polls.

During this time Clemson was building a dynasty. In our minds the SEC has become human but that's all relative to our success. Imo, the SEC isn't much better now than in the BCS days when ESPiN hyped up OU, ND or some other overrated patsy to play in the championship game. During those years all the rankings depended on subjective opinions and preseason rankings fed into some magic computer.

The playoff is the best thing to happen to football since the forward pass was made legitimate.
