Well, one thing was Coots picking up on an All-American QB transfer who had done great 1st year at OK, then maybe read his early Heisman praise the 2nd year (Soph slump maybe too) and got benched..

and Boom he's in Columbia for his 3rd year but still in a slump (8 TDs & 9 INT) until race-boating a high-flying TENN O team but one with no D..

and new life was instilled overnight into a mediocre team since they finally had a 6 TD in one game passer in Rattler and they saw Clemson's QB was still a Rattler-like liability since he hadn't been resurrected as their's was in one game but instead had been hit up at Notre Dame and was still shaky and vulnerable..

and thus Coots licked their beaks and planned to make us run first and then have DJ do his passing -running routine and aee what happened.

With this one important transfer mentioned above (which ultimately helped them as I posted in Sept it would by at least 2 more games)..
