Slaw. I don't think I would ever personally take anything

'with a grade of slaw". I detest slaw. As a matter of fact, whenever someone tries to entice me to eat that horridly nasty concoction, I simply reply "I do not wish to eat anything that looks as though it has already been eaten at least once already." That usually ends that conversation. And, yes, I did actually taste it on a few occasions, which led me to my conclusions about it.
Butt, I am shure there are some slaw afflictionatows out there. Fire Away.
(This post came about because of a BBQ post reply where someone said "Try the slaw", or something to that effect.)

This now has me wondering how many foods i eat that look as if they've already been eaten. I really like good guacamole and also occasionally eat hummus. Both of those must qualify. What else?

restaurant, just the sight of that stuff is almost enough to throw me off my feed. Almost.
There is a corollary to this. I also detest finding something crunchy in something that is supposed to be appropriately soft and gooey to eat. Examples would be:
Celery or onions in potato salad Nuts in brownies or cake. (That's brownies with a small "b', get your mind out of the gutter!) Crunchy stuff in ice cream, like pecans.
That kind of stuff is just against Nature. I do have to admomit that "Cookies 'n Creme" milk shakes are da bomb, though.
Oh, almost forgot, GET OFF MY LAWN!

but the premade stuff they sell at the grocery store never tastes right, doesn't matter which brand it is.

Are you talking about mayonnaise-based slaw or vinegar......

based slaw? They're very different.
Slaw can be great IMO or it can be terrible - depends on how it's prepared.

Add some sugar and it changes the taste in a positive way.

Nope, nada, kaflooie, KAPUT! No Slaw!
Lots of good Hash, rice, BBQ meat, macaroni, green beans (?), no need for that slaw stuffs.

So I haven’t tried salad in 35+ years and of course I didn’t like it back then, but I will occasionally try slaw if it has been chopped down to small pieces and if it has been sugared. So my question is do you like salad but detest slaw?

The taste of slaw to me is just terrible. Simple as that.

Add in how it looks, and it is a no-brainer item deletion, if I have a choice. If I don't have a choice, it all gets raked off the BBQ takeout plate before any heating up or anything else goes on, so that none of that offensive tasting juice can slosh over the edge of the compartment and ruin the taste of something else.

The best slaw I have ever eaten (I typically like slaw) was from Little Pigs BBQ on Main Street in Anderson. They put a white sauce on it which was heavenly

I rarely eat slaw. It's not the look, it's the taste. I will try it and if I like it, I'll eat it, but that is rare. I would guess that 99 times out of 100 when I order at a restaurant and it comes with slaw, I'll ask for a substitute.
However, I do like onions, green peppers, celery and sweet relish in potato salad. Potatoes and mayonnaise is pretty boring. ?
