It's not Brownell's fault, it's Clemson's for hiring him....

Feb 17, 2015, 4:32 PM

Hiring Brownell to take over a program built by Oliver Purnell would be like if Dabo left and we immediately hired Paul Johnson.

This might one of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen

Welcome to sCOOTer's world.

Feb 17, 2015, 4:37 PM [ in reply to This might one of the most ignorant posts I've ever seen ]

Probably made posts claiming we needed to fire Dabo too.

Re: Welcome to sCOOTer's world.

Feb 17, 2015, 4:43 PM

Nope and you know what's funny?

I used to be on the other side of this argument back when Purnell was here.

Yes, there actually were people calling for his head back when we were winning 20+ games and an NCAA tournament team every.

So you're saying you weren't making "disgruntled tiger fan"

Feb 17, 2015, 4:45 PM

posts in 2010 or after the WVU debacle? Sorry, if you say that then I don't believe you.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: So you're saying you weren't making "disgruntled tiger fan"

Feb 17, 2015, 4:48 PM

I'm not a disgruntled tiger fan now, I'm just stating my opinion and that is that Brad Brownell is not the man to lead this basketball program.

I will watch every game for the rest of the season pulling for us to win just like I always do.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The question was pretty clear I thought, sCOOTer?

Feb 17, 2015, 4:52 PM

Did you make posts as a "disgruntled tiger fan" in 2010 or after the WVU loss? Tell the truth.

By the way, Brad is going nowhere. He will be here next year and most likely the one after that barring a complete collapse in 2015-16.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think there is some truth in that transition being tough

Feb 17, 2015, 4:34 PM

didn't we have Stansbury on the hook, but it fell through?

Anyway... it would just make it a priority to recruit for what you want to do system wise.

Brownell was hired within a few days wasn't he?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

8 days.

Feb 17, 2015, 4:46 PM

April 5, 2010 - OP leaves
April 13, 2010 - Brownell hired

I thought I remembered a deal with Stansbury from MSU

Feb 17, 2015, 4:52 PM

falling through before BB was hired

That is true

Feb 17, 2015, 4:57 PM

But it happened and then didn't happen within a day or so. Then we were like "give us the runner up for the Indiana job!"

Feb 17, 2015, 4:44 PM

Brownell is a fine man...a good coach...and a mentor...lets keep supporting him until
he doesn't deserve it....remember, this is our Clemson...we built the basketball program
long before Brownell was born....

Re: It's not Brownell's fault, it's Clemson's for hiring him....

Feb 17, 2015, 4:51 PM

I have the confuse about the topic. Not sure if the OP watched GT beat CLEMSON, or beat UGA (who CLEMSON lost to), and not sure if that is the Paul Johnson that he is referring to. Surely not. Maybe he watches BBall and not FB.

Who are we going to hire?

Skeeter3, my advice for you today is Biblical...

Feb 17, 2015, 5:34 PM

Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues. Prov 17:28

You may want to keep silent and hold your tongue and keyboard!
