My wife is on that older yellow look light. She does not like the white or multi colored look.

HUGE colored lights from my childhood were replaced with these due to fire hazards, but those old light strings really MADE the Christmas Tree, if you know what I mean.
That and Tinsel, which is another thing you don't see as much anymore, either.

tree hasw white lights and the outdoor lights on shrubs are multicolor.
BTW as a kid I remember the bulbs that bubbled as they had a glass tube on the end. They would get very hot and burn you if you touched them. What genius came up with those?

Takes about 5 mins to put on and 10 seconds to take off. I use 2 for a 7 to 8 ft tree

I remember a church near Brevard (when I was little) cut a huge white pine and placed in the sanctuary. The lights were filled with some type of oil that would boil as they got hot.
Also, the icicles were real lead!

bubble lights.we had those too back in the 50's,when i was a kid.also remember the the lead icicles.have talked to some who who remember chewing on them.thankfully,i escaped that.

palm accented with various-sized glitter orbs.
There are three other smaller trees, also with white lights. Outside, a mixture of white on shrubbery with colored on garland and two trees. I use white icicle lights on porches and balconies with colored lights on trees on the porches.
After the holidays...usually mid-January...I light a match, burn it all up and start over the next year. Easy peasy. lol
Also, large sailboats in our cove have multi-colored lights on masts and sails. Quite a spectacle.

Been a real tree guy my whole life but finally broke down last year and bought an artificial tree that has lights that can be white or colored or alternate between the two. Have to admit it’s pretty nice looking. White icicle lights along the eaves on the front of the house.

Solved the problems, wife wants white lights, granddaughter wants colored lights. I found a string that contains both! Turn the knob and put it on what you want. Now if I can find Clemson orange tree lights, all will be good.
