has he graduated?

if not, then I wouldn't even consider it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No

Jan 20, 2013, 3:12 PM

Only players that stay all 4 years should be able to retire their numbers. He is plenty good enough, but that should be used as an incentive for players of his caliber to stay. Tajh has a chance though. Especially if he wins the Heisman.

You want to penalize him for leaving?

Jan 20, 2013, 3:15 PM

It's the best desicion for him considering the year he's had.

Re: You want to penalize him for leaving?

Jan 20, 2013, 3:17 PM

i agree it was a good decision. but unless he's graduated or comes back during the offseason to finish his degree, then he shouldn't be eligible for having his jersey retired.

that's just my opinion. leaving early doesn't prevent him from earning his degree.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. We are on the road to having year after year of great

Jan 20, 2013, 3:12 PM

players. We would run out of numbers.

Not before we retire the #20.

Jan 20, 2013, 3:20 PM

But leaving after his junior year shouldn't have anything to do with whether we retire his jersey or not.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lets retire every num. and give everyone else #0

:(

Never, not a fan of retiring numbers period

Jan 20, 2013, 3:22 PM

What happens when we go after a stellar player who wears 28, and wearing 28 in college is very important to him?

I know it sounds silly, but these ARE 17-19 year olds and yes, things like that matter to them as we've seen in the past.

I say just honor their name and number in some way, but don't make the number unavaliable...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

for me...

Jan 20, 2013, 3:53 PM

I'm not sure why some of the numbers we have are retired.

#21

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

charlie whitehurst was a better #6

Jan 20, 2013, 3:45 PM

Imo..Nuk was obviously dang good but charlie stayed all four years and beat the coots all four times.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's too early to think about that***

You said jersey. Everyone else is talking about numbers. I think after the Anthoney Downs thing and #4, Clemson said only jerseys and not numbers.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Huh? How do you retire something that wasn't

Jan 20, 2013, 4:41 PM

going to get used again anyway? Nuk's career should result in a nice sign in the concourses.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No***

Great kid & fan favorite with cool nickname, but not A-A

Jan 20, 2013, 5:20 PM

material...his contributions to Clemson were awesome, but are how do his stats match up with recent guys like Youngblood or Hamilton....he is #13 all time at Clemson, so this in itself should be a decisive "NO".

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. Let him go to the pro bowl for half-a-dozen seasons,

Jan 20, 2013, 5:30 PM

and then bring him back for his final year of eligibility.
