Seriously...these cabin fever days get me every time.

So, sitting around entertaining myself watching YouTube videos and I discover a bass so hideously Frankenstein-ugly that I've just about talked myself into one....the new Jackson Concert Bass is a hybridbastard of Jackson body and headstock, flat radius Gibson-style fretboard, Fender PJ pickup configuration with active preamp, and Rickenbacker-style bridge and hardware. Who thinks these things up...and why? AND WHY AM I NOW COMPELLED TO FIND ONE AND PLAY IT???




Man, I get myself in trouble by watching these bass review videos. On the plus side, it's still a better investment than Clemson basketball.

Pickup cover.

It's a fairly common thing on Rickenbackers, and other than aesthetics it's pretty useless. My Rick 4003 has a cover on the bridge pickup. Guys that slap or play with a pick usually complain that they get in the way. I play mostly with fingers so it doesn't bother me too much but it's also pretty common for folks to remove the covers. You also see bridge covers on a lot of old Fenders, which I don't like the look of at all.
