Ben and Carson could really help themselves out with a good showing. @schema would have to help us on this one but unless I'm mistaken, the points are higher too.
Quite the disparity between the wells Fargo and the LPGA international gigs. 20 mil vs 2.5 mil. 🤷♀️

Akshay will be coming “home” to NC this week . . . which oftentimes creates unneeded pressure . . .
Here is where I was introduced to Akshay Bhatia: (part 1) https://youtu.be/oEkha2rYyBg (part 2) https://youtu.be/Ym1oEOUUI-I
He’s a skinny rascal . . . smooth lefty . . . calm and controlled . . . relates well to others . . . easy for me to like and pull for.
As for the disparity in Men’s vs Women’s Purses . . . You are preaching to the choir Sister!!! Look, I understand it’s all about the “eyes” and who is following the Events . . . but there is no way the Women’s influence on Golf is THAT much lower than Men’s.
If you’ve ever followed, live and in person, both events . . . you will agree. If I’m going to walk a course, viewing golfers, I’d much prefer to follow a Woman’s Event . . . but that’s just me. Not only are they easier on the eyes, their “games” are believable and relatable . . . in general, they appear to enjoy the game more and don’t mind showing it.

Agree with you and CGA about women's golf, but unfortunately not everyone feels like us. It's difficult to get accurate attendance numbers, I guess intentionally, as I suspect that the numbers are significantly lower than PGA events. I know there is also the fact that so many of the best players on the LPGA Tour are Asian hurts the US attendance as it is more natural to want to see players whom you are more familiar with. It may not be right, but that is just the way it is. For some reason, that does not seem to be as much the case with the men, as many of our favorites are European players. It could be because a lot of them played college golf here. I am not sure that is true with the ladies.

Sorry I'm late to the discussion. As far as I can tell, the points for this week's event are the same as a regular open event. It is just the purse and level of competition that is elevated.
As reference, Hilton Head was also a designated event this season and I went back and looked and it gave out the normal amount of points.

Pretty rough start for Been and Doc. Carson is hanging in there and Luca looking pretty good a -2. I think they have all finished their round.

Carson just broke my heart. Rough start, brought it back with 3 straight birdies, then played in the sand on 10 and my peeve, a bogey on a par 5. Bad tee shot on 14 that didn't give him a chance... he should have bombed it out there and taken his chances. But that finish after the birdie on 15.
