Saw a thread on main board.

Mar 16, 2013, 8:46 PM

I saw a thread on the rival's main board talking about who are the flagship teams of each conference and throughout the whole thread, all they talked about was FSU/VT/Miami. Are they kidding? We have the most ACC titles and Clemson/FSU are the only teams holding this conference up in football right now. I would show link but I could not find the thread after if shifted pages behind.

The rivals mainboard is mostly college age guys. They dont remember danny ford clemson. They remember tommy bowden and dabo. They dont respect dabos accomplishments because yall are in the acc. They know the brands of the schools you mentioned. Clemson no longer carries the perception it used to outside of our state at least among the younger generations. They dont have the same memories as those of us in this state.

If they remember the recent. Why do they not remember Clemson beating the h3ll out of the rest of the ACC? What you said makes no sense. Clemson and FSU are the flagship schools of the ACC right now.

Agreed. However, on that board you have a lot of casual fans pretending to be diehards. Half the time they really have no idea what they are talking about. Thats why miami is even in the conversation. They know "tha U" brand so they throw miami in there just to have something to say. Most keep up with their team, maybe their conference, and dont know a lot about everything else. Of course there are some knowledgeable guys there but most on that board are their for trolling, laughs, and pretending to be football experts.

why are you talking about your own teams fans? most usuc

Mar 16, 2013, 10:20 PM [ in reply to Re: markb ]

fans that post on t-net have no idea what football is, outside of the final score. at least how the game is played. they see usuc on tv, watch no other games, and yet think they know everything. usuc's fanbase is a joke - period.

Our fanbases are basically the same thing. This state isnt that diverse.

If you ask a person who are the flagship football teams for the ACC 9/10 people would say FSU, Clemson, and VT.

Actually, most media articles about the ACC reference

Mar 17, 2013, 5:18 AM

Clemson and FSU, when discussing football. Additionally, there was significant coverage and discussion across the nation, not only in the media but in other school forums, about the CFA Bowl and our defeat of LSU. Thus, if football is the topic, Clemson is nearly always included by those with a shred of football knowledge. Basketball is a different story, while our baseball history has been quite good for a long time.

Therefore, any discussions that differ IMO are, shall we say, somewhat lacking in credibility.
