They aren't very reliable. I have had to get a 1 year old dryer fixed and a 1 year old fridge replaced. They look cool, but they break. FYI from my experience. I guess Whirlpool are more reliable.

Have a Samsung fridge that's probably 3-4 years old. Fridge is great but the icemaker blows goats.

I had a 7 year old Samung clothes washer take a dump

Went to Lowe's and told the guy I wanted to replace my Samsung washer and he asked how old it was. I told him, and he said "that's about 5 years long than most folks get out of them".
I just bought a 2017 used set of Maytags. Loud as chit, but were dirt cheap, If they crap out I haven't really lost anything, and because so many of teh exact same units are made by Whirlpool, parts are cheap.

My Kenmore washer that I got for graduation in 98 is still going strong. The matching dryer that I got with it would be still killing it too if I hadn't let lint build up inside and catch on fire a few years ago.

I just bought a Hi Sense refrigerator because it 1) looked cool and 2) fit the hole.
I give it a year. I've had it about 3 weeks and I don't think its stop running yet.

we got not long after we got married. We used it almost daily when raising kids, and both lasted about 15 years without a hitch, then both crapped out within a week of each other. Fingers crossed on 5-year old Samsung set now.

Which one?

Bought one of those bullet ice makers a long time ago and it lasted a good two years before crapping out. I actually fixed it once before then because it would read that it was out of water when it wasn't. Had to repair a faulty switch.
But that one was cheap. What kind are you looking at? We are always running out of ice.

or turn it off if you are not there. GE and Frigidaire here and both are doing great. (Knock on wood, LOL, wood).
I do like the one in the door (GE) vs in the fridge (Frigidaire) much better. My Frigidaire gets too cold near the ice maker.

I forgot to add a good part of the story, well kind of good. So the fridge broke and Samsung sent people out a few times due to warranty. Those guys couldn't fix it. They brought new parts etc etc. But couldn't get it to work. Samsung decides that they will send me a new fridge. After 4 months they couldn't get the fridge here. I haven't had a fridge the worked in my kitchen for that entire time, but I do have one outside on the patio in a closet, a small one for brews. Anyway, Samsung eventually gave up and decided to send to pay me 2900 bucks to go purchase another fridge. Well, I decided to just call some local guy to see if he could fix it. He found the problem and fixed it for 100 bucks. Well so that of course means I got 2800 bucks in my pocket. I spent well over that eating out so often and not having leftovers, but still kind of cool to get that 2900.

in storage that will be coming out of storage this week. Its been a great beer fridge since about 2012. I paid $50 for it, and the stickers on the door are worth 10x what I paid for it. I'm interested to see if it will still work.
I've already found a new unit for $600 that I can put the door on just in case the unit has finally died.

Not hardly, My Sony 55" Bravia lasted 15 years then gave it to son for lawschool and he abandoned it 3 years later saying that it still had a good picture.
When this new Bravia PS5 model gets a bit more mature (next year maybe after Christmas) I'm going to shell out a grand and replace the Visio.
I ignore correct spelling of proper names.

Have a Samsung washer, you know, the one that they found out

that the top could fly off during spin cycle and possibly kill you?
Their answer? They send a sticker to put over the knob settings, so it "tricks" you in not selecting high speed spin. I kid you not. finally sent someone out to fix it under recall, but took almost a year.
Also, anytime we go on vacay and it sits idle for more than a week, have to run it a few times empty because all these flakes suddenly appear.

maker dispenser and filtered water dispenser. A landlord sold it to me when I moved in because he didn't want to service it. I paid 25 bucks for it and have done no maintenance other than replace filters.
We once got a handmedown washer from my sister (too old and gross to post). It was 18 yrs/o when we got it and used it for another decade. I replaced the impeller (water pump) once.
You guys wonder why we boomers long for 'The Ole Days?'

I have two sons who are maintenance managers at large apartment complexes so I won't fix it, one of them will.
I've looked around and the electronics on the new appliances are going to be their downfall. A new fridge with accessories like my old one is ~$2000. Not in this life.
