Reminder – Mickey Plyler in Mt. Pleasant, SC on 8/20/2013
Aug 18, 2013, 8:11 AM
I just wanted to remind everyone in the Charleston Area, as well as anyone else who would like to come into town for the event, that the Charleston County Clemson Club’s annual Attorneys’ Two-A-Day Practice Report is this Tuesday, August 20, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Mt. Pleasant location of Triangle Char & Bar.
The event is free to any member of the Charleston County Clemson Club who has paid their 2013 – 2014 dues. Club memberships are $25.00. If you only want to attend this one event, there will be a charge of $15.00.
This year’s event should be the best one we have had to date. In addition to our feature speaker (Mickey Plyler of WCCP), we will also several very nice raffle prizes (your raffle ticket is free with your admission). Raffle prizes include several $50.00 Gift Certificates to some of the area’s best restaurants (including Langdon’s, Salt, and Opal, all of which are owned and operated by Clemson graduates).
Also scheduled to appear is award-winning sportswriter and author Will Vandervort. Mr. Vandervort will be signing copies of his very extensive and well-researched new book on our athletic program entitled: “Clemson: where the Tigers play.”
There will be a buffet consisting of many of Triangle’s most popular menu items, including ‘slider’ sized versions of several of their best burgers. We will have a happy hour from 5:00 – 6:30. Mickey will speak at 6:30 P.M. He will also take your questions. Triangle will have all beers, wines, and cocktails priced at happy hour prizes throughout the event. They will also have a full kitchen and wait staff on hand should you want to just order something from the menu that is not offered on the buffet.
Please remember to be generous with your gratuities. The bar tenders and wait staff are missing out on a night of being open to the public during happy hour and peak dinner hours. We need to take care of the businesses (and their employees) that take care of us.
We have had a great response from the Charleston legal community as far as sponsorships go, and I thank everyone who has sponsored this year’s event. We also have had several very generous donations from Clemson graduates who work with our attorney sponsors (real estate brokers, appraisers, bankers, etc.).
However, closing down a venue the size of Triangle (the entire restaurant will be closed to the public from 4:00 – 8:00 for this event) and feeding a couple hundred people is significant financial undertaking.
My co-host for this year’s event (Brian Collie of Buxton & Collie, L.L.C.) and I would welcome anyone else who would like to sponsor the event and/or donate another door prize for the raffle to contact us directly.
