Realistic worst/best case recruiting scenarios

[1]
Aug 6, 2012, 4:58 PM

Best case:

Crowder
Droogsma
Adams
North

Worst case
Crowder
Droogsma
fall back DB

Realistic in between:

Crowder
Droogsma
North
fallback DB (Duke commit possibly - would not be the worst thing, apparently he is best friends with the #1 recruit for next year, and has a 3* status himself)

I think we are definitely behind on Adams now

Thoughts?

North is out. I believe we get Droogsma and Crowder

We will be battling for Adams until NSD and the deciding factor might just be how well both teams do this year.

I think you are right.

Droogsma did not like FSU's o-line coach, and I think that will be the deciding factor. Crowder has not said much, but I just like our chances with him.

Adams is really questionable, and I get really nervous when the team we are trying to beat is Auburn, simply because I do not trust them to play by the rules. If Auburn stinks it up this year (which could happen), then Chizik will start feeling the heat in a big way. If that happens, and we have a good year, then I will like our chances a lot more with Adams.

The wildcard is Alexander. He has not said much, so no one really feels great about their chances, but I guess the schools he has named as favorites (which includes Clemson) all have a shot. He says he wants to play right away, and because we are losing three DB's, you have to think he would like his chances at Clemson. I hope so.

I think coach Trickett and Droogsma do not get along so well. Apparently he did not do so well at their camp and coach Trickett made him know that he was not happy.

Adams is definitely going to be a difficult get, although you are correct, there are 6 months. I think you are quick to say Auburn is cheating, Auburn and Clemson have extremely similar recruiting pitches, and both seem to work.

Alexander I did not include because his brother has committed to FSU and they are now considered the front runner.

I don't think he was too quick to say Auburn cheats. It

doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. Sadly, no one from NASA works for the NCAA.

Apparently he isn't the only one quick to think...

Auburn isn't on the up-and-up...

Looks like the NCAA is concerned too:

North - What happened?

Aug 14, 2012, 1:06 AM

What happened with North? No chance we get back in the mix?

of those 3 guys North is the one we can best do without!the 2 O/L are far and away what we need most!other than Adams that is!!

Your worst case is not that bad.

Aug 6, 2012, 5:12 PM

The worst case is theat we miss on Crowder, North, Adams, Droogsma, and Alexander, and then lose some of the guys who are already committed.

The best case is Adams, Crowder, Droogsma, North, and Alexander or Fuller.

The most likely case is Droogsma, Crowder, and a DB not named Alexander or Fuller. I know there are a different number of recruits in each scenario, but we are in over-sign mode right now, so Adams, North, Crowder, Alexander, and Fuller (if he was to switch) would all be oversigns, who if we did not get, would not hurt us in terms of numbers.

We will get Droogsma and Crowder. Don't worry about that. And I was not including decommitments from our current class.

I don't really get why everybody thinks

Aug 6, 2012, 5:54 PM

we're so far behind for Adams all of the sudden. Just cause he visited Auburn doesn't mean that much....

Re: I don't really get why everybody thinks

Aug 6, 2012, 6:44 PM

It is pretty obvious we are behind. He has been to AU many more times, was scheduled to come to All in Cookout and then cancelled last minute to go to AU. He is also being HEAVILY recruited by Reuben Foster and Carl Lawson.

It is going to be an uphill battle

Aug 6, 2012, 7:08 PM

He didn't go to the all in cookout because he had already visited Clemson so many times. I think he's been here more than AU, and has listed Clemson as his top school since we were the first to offer him

He has been to Auburn 1 more time than Clemson. No big deal. What we need is Nkemdiche to start recruiting this guy. Nkemdiche has not recruited for us at all. I know him committing helped us in recruiting period but if he would be a little more active in trying to get some high profile recruits for us that would be huge. Not bashing Nkemdiche at all I know he has enough to deal with I am just saying it could not hurt.
