He's just stating what he heard and I've heard the same thing. In fact, it's the first thing I thought of when he went down, "this looks like a freak ACL injury". I've seen enough of them.
Unfortunately it's bad news. Wish it wasn't, but that's how it is. You can drop the internet attitude.

The trainers did the field tests and determined it was the acl. Told Watson on the field he tore his acl. MRI simply confirmation. They have been wrong before but not often.

I read that DW had torn his ACL, but that has not been verified and therefore is not credible.
