I can't imagine how bad things would be for him after a dismal if he couldn't get the starting slot for EMCC.

Would You all stop?!?! He's not a great competitor. He's a jerk who claims to be a great competitor. Let him go ruin another opportunity. Counting high school & Clemson, it would be 4 out of 5 screw ups in the last 7 yrs.

Jerks are jerks. Can't change em. Great competitors make the Hall of Fame at their high school, college, or the pro level. People who TALK ABOUT their SWAG or COMPETITIVE nature do not. They disappear and live the rest of their lives blaming everyone else.
If CK really is. Great competitor, he will wake the F...k up, shut up, and play ball. If he is what he's shown so far..........you know how it will end

who no longer plays for Clemson.
I get your point, but the problem is sports are chocked full of prima donnas like Manziel or Kelly. And once they play well - not necessarily great - the media and drooling sportswriter fan boys just feed the monster.
Nothing new it seems to me.

Not anger at all. Just sick of hearing it. He lost his s..t He blew his top and his chance and I'm sick of hearing how competitive he is. He doesn't know how to compete.
How bout celebrating the TRUE COMPETITORS that we have that kept their mouths shut and ACTUALLY COMPETED and beat him out. Chad tried to win the job every way BUT COMPETING and went ballistic! A true competitor would have taken the news and advice that he needed to change his ways, then tripled his efforts to change and compete in a constructive way that would make him and the team better.
As coach Dale said in Hoosiers. About the players on his team that stuck it out. "This is our team, I hope you come out and cheer them on".
LETS MOVE ON!!!!!!

No way, if you watched him on the occasions when he did get in a game, you could say he was not a competitor. I would imagine that competitiveness is what got to him. He just couldn't stand not being the guy, so he moved on to where he could be. There are many good players on good teams who are jerks, but that doesn't mean they aren't good players. I am glad we have who we have at QB, but I don't wish bad for Kelly. I hope he learned a good lesson and doesn't repeat the flaw. You, on the other hand, may think what you wish.

I've been watching replays from last season and IMO when Kelly came in the game he was quick to tuck and run instead finding an open receiver. Seems it was more like look at what I'm doing instead of what was best for the team. I wish him only the best and his Uncle Jim has an easy rest of his life.

So dual threat QB's are not running bc it helps move the ball for the team, but bc they are saying look at me? Wow lol we live in a crazy world, in a world full of haters. Crazy he was doing all of that on a knee that was already surgically repaired, but yeah it was all ab him. Lol what a joke

No Sir not hating at all. In the games last year it seems that way to me. When he got the ball he would barely look down field tuck the ball and run. Of course there's still
three more games to watch the Citadel, the Coots,and OhSt.

if I was on the field with nothing but third-teamers and walk-ons.
Kelly is a very talented QB, his off-the-field problems just overshadowed that.

If Tajh had left a year earlier, we would have found out this guy wasn't a fit for CLEMSON a year sooner. Good luck to him.... Maybe his uncle will get him a look come NFL drafting day.

In response to the last few posts......
I do hope he turns his life around...tho I've got my opinions, he's a troubled kid that has to figure it out......I really wish him the best IF he changes his ways.
I disagree that he is prone to "tuck and run" very quickly because it's all about him. He does that because that's what he is.......a QB that is looking to run rather than stay in the pocket and make his reads. You can do that in high school when u r the best athlete on the field? Right now he's still that high school QB. We saw in the spring game what happens to him under pressure. I'm not talking about his blow up, I'm referring to how his mechanics break down during live competition. He's impressive to watch just throwing passes in warm up, but in live action his mechanics are awful. He does set his feet, he's off balance, which leads to some badly thrown balls. Watch the spring game and it's very clear.
Lastly, he has done nothing at all up to this point to show he can A) grow up. B) perform at even the college level, and C)until he does, even Uncle Jim would not give him, let alone "get" him a tryout in the NFL. Just see what's happening to Johnny Football right now. And Johnny was one hell of a college Player.
