I don't think Dabo means for the reserves to stop scoring. In the past, our O was so well known it was hard for them to make anything happen.

I suspect, although Coach Swinney has the final say on everything, he will not interfere with Coach Riley and his play calling. I believe Coach Swinney will still try to get younger players involved in the game to gain experience, but I believe Coach Riley will keep his foot on the gas the entire game even with the second and third string players.

I had wondered about this but for a different reason. You know Riley would love to have a Heisman winning QB to add to his resume plus show his big brother he can do it too. Dabo removing the QBs early when we have a lead is main reason DW4 nor TL16 were Heisman winners. I could see Riley wanting to keep the gas on a little longer to get those votes but Dabo saying, "Hey, I won 2 Natties and my methods are proven!".
I hope it's a good blend of both. Maybe with the lead in first half giving the two's a series instead of giving them the last 3rd of the game.

There will be a point where you want to test your depth and so it won't be about scoring too many points but more about when do you get the 1's out and give the other guys their opportunities.

Clemson will play as they always have. If they get way up in the game the backups will begin to play and they will play the same way they have all game. That is to score points. It just so happens that the losing team keeps their starters in longer therefore the Tiger backups tend to score fewer points. The foot will never be taken off the gas. I had a discussion with a Gamecock friend of mine when he claimed that Dabo was trying to run the score up on them several years ago when we had our backups in and we just happened to score at the very end of the game instead of giving the knee. I explained to him that Dabo has always said that every play is a chance to learn and therefore the reason for playing the game until the last play of the game. Taking a knee is a waste of the opportunity to learn. Once again, Dabo will never take the foot off the gas so this question is irrelevant.

I don't think there will be enough tension to matter. They are both coaches and emotions run high for everyone during games, especially when opinions differ. However, I imagine they will both be of the same mentality when it comes to building up a good lead then resting your starters for protection and putting in your backups for experience.
If the backups keep scoring, then no one is going to tell them to stop.

Dabo modus operandi has always been play as many as you can while you can. We get up by 17+ points he will pull players and start getting some looks for the young fellers.
Interesting to see if this changes slightly. I mean he pulled TL16 in 2nd quarter in many games...of course he may bring the guys back if things go poorly, but he has always shown the capacity to play as many as possible.
That is the Dabo way, Riley will like it or he will move on. Make no mistake this is the Dabo show, input welcome but CDS will make the final call. Play 100 players, as long as comfortable win who cares about these 67-10 games or whatever. Its all fluff, just win and keep doing it.

Elliott and Streeter definitely needed some help with the play calling, but no more meddling in the offense should be allowed.

to learn head coaching skill sets/flavor from Dabo, AND also to teach Dabo and other offensive coaches his offense. I believe the Dabo/Riley relationship will be fairly even-keeled, but Dabo is the boss. Riley will have plenty of offers for HC positions if his 2023 and possibly 2024 Offenses dominate -- so Dabo will be much more hands-off than with T. Elliott/J. Scott/B. Streeter.

Dabo knows his place. Remember how the wily Dabo was with BV coaching the defense? He would let BV give orders delivered with the maniacal expressions and excitement then Dabo would give an encouraging pep talk. All the while you could see Dabo looking out the corner of his eye at BV to make sure he wasn’t ticked by what he said. It was kind of funny. Dabo doesn’t allow his ego to slow things down. Assistant coaches tackle him after a big win.
