Will 8-5 over our last 13 games get us into The Tournament?

That would put us at 18-12 overall and 10-9 in the ACC.
Losses to FSU twice, ND, and Duke.

And close your test booklet. Do not go to the next page.
This concludes the mathematics portion of the testing.

weight it used to. Our whole conference is historically subpar this year, compared to the ACC glory years.
Losing to BC the other night may have been, sadly, a tipping point in the wrong direction. It was truly Tommy Bowden-esque.

Likely not with those records. Would help if we made a nice run in the ACC Tournament...win 2 or 3 games....

We are 89th in RPI with only one good opportunity against a good team to raise it up. Realistically we’d need to be well inside the top 50 because of automatic bids. Not sure we jump 40+ schools with a weak schedule even if we win out.

Obviously you do not subscribe to the Dabo Swinney one game at a time philosophy. Care to tell me how we go 8-5 over the next 13 games when you blow a 23 point first half lead at home to a program that had not won a road game in over a year?

We can not afford more the 2, maybe 3, losses to even be on the bubble.

No. That sounds like hosting a couple of NIT rounds though.
The only shot I see into the NCAA tourney at this point is winning the ACC tournament. With it being such a down year for so many, it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility. And with Coach B fully feeling the flames creeping up his rear at this point, who knows he might summon up his inner best and lead us over the top.
Go Tigers!

An invite to the NIT will suffice for another year.

Do you think Coach Brownell is feeling any pressure from his boss? I've never gotten that impression. At least not when Dan Radakovich was here. He seems quite comfortable and content.
The Tournament is not a necessary achievement. As is often mentioned on this forum by some, the Athletic Department isn't invested enough in the basketball program for us to reasonably expect tournament appearances.
Do you think anything has changed in that regard?

I doubt Neff has directly addressed Brownell about his coaching status, and wouldn't expect anything like that until the season fully wraps. I do feel like Brownell sees the writing on the wall though, and in seasons past we have seen our best results under him when he's in a corner (cue Dirty Dancing).
And no I don't think an annual trip to the NCAA is an expectation, but I do feel that's what would save Brownell here in his 12th season.
