https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/russian-dressing-51182860Russian Dressing Russian dressing and Thousand Island dressing are often confused because both begin with a base of mayonnaise and ketchup or ketchup-style chili sauce, which results in a pink salad dressing. But where Thousand Island is a bit sweet and studded with pickle relish, Russian dressing is on the spicier side, with a hint of heat from horseradish and hot sauce. For more information about salad dressings and tips on making them from scratch, see our Homemade Salad Dressing Primer.

I can give you the base to my sauce. Its been in my family a long time and everyone makes they own version. 1 cup of ketchup 1/2 cup of water optional- it will make it thinner or add more ketchup to make it thicker 1/4 cup of lemon juice 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar 2-3 TBS of mustard 2-3 TBS of Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of molasse or honey optional- it depends on how sweet you want it. salt and pepper to taste. Bring it to a boil stir to keep the sugar from burning. Then let it rest. That is the base but not how I make it but close. I add a little heat and a few more things.

I like Old Mule regular flavor.

Great combination of sweet and spicy. I use it on ribs and pork chops and smoked tenderloins.
I make a wing sauce for chicken wings that most people really like. It's about 1 part Frank's Hot Sauce and two parts maple syrup, a stick of butter, and some McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning, let it simmer for 15 minutes, add some cornstarch to thicken it up, and pour it over the wings in a bowl and shake them up to coat evenly.

Shealy's Old Hickory Recipe

Frank's Red Hot
Honestly, I like straight hot sauce on BBQ, especially if the BBQ hasn't already been soaked in a vinegar/pepper sauce. It's the same thing except puts hair on your bawls.

I don't know if I agree with that because not everyone's vinegar pepper sauce taste the same. I know a guy that made the best. I tried to make some and it was close but never could figure out what I was leaving out. It could have even been the type of salt.

Scott's BBQ sauce is really good if you want that vinegar stuff. I really like it. FatherG recommended it and it was a good call. Almost ready for another bottle soon.
