So Featherston goes from being a heavy favorite to Clemson

Jan 1, 2014, 12:07 PM

And commits to FSU, now Trevion Thompson is doing the same thing with NC State. Gotta close the deal with these guys

We've got more WR right now than D line.

Jan 1, 2014, 12:10 PM

Featherston is the bigger loss (or will be - Trevion still not committed?).

Yeah not as worried about WRs even though I'd like to win on some of these TOP receivers we missed out on last few years. FSU is ridding their great season and are killing US un recruiting. Needs to stop ASAP

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How do you stop it? Our best chance is to land

Jan 1, 2014, 12:47 PM

the guys that don't covet the SEC and see FSU as the next best thing to the SEC. And develop them. It can be just as easy to make a "4 star" into a "5 star" than to land the guys who are chased heavily by the bigger programs. I don't put as much faith in the arbitrary ratings that sometimes are all over the map for even one guy.

The rich keep getting.......

Jan 1, 2014, 12:29 PM

insanely richer. Well, even in our best recruiting years ever.....FSU still out recruits us. Sigh!

anyone consider this as a sign that beasly and or bryant may have told Dabo they were staying, and we are out of room?

just food for thought

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

only i think if williams is a sure thing. i thought cu

Jan 1, 2014, 12:50 PM

needed at least 1 de this cycle & have seen 2 mentioned for numbers as well.

crawford
barnes
lawson
beasley
Ogundeko
byers
rogers
aiken

3 of those are gone from grad after next year and other than lawson, you've got little experience. maybe ogun & rogers are being counted on as heavy contributors out of the remaining group, lawson is a front liner for sure.

did i miss anyone?

the staff's gone hard after a front liner all 'year'. i think whiffing would leave a big hole.

hmmmm... twisting a kids arm to stay and ruin recruiting. They'll jump over this one.

No.I think the lost to uscee hurt our recruiting momentum some. Our number at wide out is not great. We need this game bigtime.

This kid is big risk big reward.***

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Big time project

Jan 1, 2014, 12:51 PM

I still don't understand why so many were so high on him. We already have a project DE on campus in Ebo so I think we will be fine there. This guy will be in a weight room for two years before he sees the field.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

we go 4-6 deep at tackle and 4 deep at de. ogun

Jan 1, 2014, 12:52 PM

is a project as well.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Too many misses on key prospects this year for sure.***

Jan 1, 2014, 12:54 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Jabril Robinson could step in at DE early

Jan 1, 2014, 12:54 PM

Then depending what coaches want to do with him move him back to DT

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yes, another project. i am not picking on the kid

Jan 1, 2014, 12:59 PM

cause brooks and the coaches love him, but you're saying 'he could' doesn't necessarily mean he should or is the answer when you're missing on all your designated de targets.

it'll work out i'm sure, but featherstone, williams, lorenzo, the kid out of maryland were all highly recruited by the staff for good reason.

there were some others in there as well.

A lot to do with # of scholies ?

Jan 1, 2014, 1:00 PM

I believe we have some waiting on jrs to leave or not to leave. And could be we have some others too. Hope they could have waited to another week. FSU / SC were huge losses and we should have won the scar game. Got to think they are using the "Clemson can not win the big games ". beating osu and wining all in 2014. Got to beat fsu somehow.
We only have a few big games as we play in acc.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Gets It ^^, He commits to FSU AFTER

Jan 1, 2014, 1:02 PM

Beasley gets a 2nd round draft grade. We still need a DE to RS as we will lose 3 next year as Lawson will be draft eligible after next year.
