I think it was one of those grandpa moments. Where grandpa says to little Johnny look you got a full head of hair like your daddy and then ruffles little Johnny's hair. Or grandma says look you got dimples like your daddy and pinches little Johnny's cheek.

Mack Brown grabbed Shane's neck and said do you have that gobbler neck like your daddy and he checked. I always liked frank Beamer but I always thought his neck looked like the gobbler or beard on their turkey mascot.

Coach Frank Beamer's neck condition is the result of childhood burns and scarring, caused by a gasoline fire. Burned skin, and especially grafted skin covering burn scars is seldom natural looking, and frequently quite grotesque looking - but once you know the background and history, it is much easier to be more accepting. R/TLM
