Couple of things to consider here...

The SEC is going to wait until Clemson and FSU's departure is public before going down the "official" road of talking to VT and other ACC schools.
The Big XII takes 2 for now, and watches what the SEC does. The SEC wants 2 of VT, UNC, and NCSU.
Another thing to keep in mind... Beamer does not want to go the SEC. He absolutely wants to stay in the ACC.

LMAO I bet he doesn't. But if invited VT would be crazy not to go.

Unless they hit a homerun with his replacement, they are SOL. I see them as K-State without Bill Snyder

take a couple teams now, sit back, see what other teams other conferences take, and then take some more. This ain't backyard football. You don't pick one and give someone else a pick.
The BIG XII is in the position of strength so why would they play nice with the sec? Just because they have a bowl game together doesn't mean everything is great. The SEC just got done helping the B1G and PAC 12 almost send the BIGXII into oblivion. Go get the best 6 teams out there and never fear about stability again. The idea that the BIG XII and SEC are working together on expansion is stupid. SEC " Hey BIG XII, I know I tried to burn your house down last year, but you want to get together for a cookout?". If the BIG XII doesn't have more kahunas than that, I might not want to go.

by working together... the Big XII and SEC can destroy

the ACC. Look at it this way...
SEC doesn't want CU, FSU, GT, and only one of UNC, NCSU.
That's four teams right there for the Big XII. I'm sure they would love to have VT, but if given the option, VPI goes SEC.
Big XII holding out hope ND joins after new BCS format announced. If they do... you're probably looking at FSU, CU, GT, and ND to make 14 by 2016. If they go 16, NCSU, UNC, Pitt, or UL come into play.
SEC only needs two to get to 16... VPI and either NCSU/UNC.
Those two conferences would dominate the south and midwest (kinda midwest... true midwest is Iowa, Indiana, etc...)

Would the ACC not be destroyed if the BIG XII

went ahead and got CU, FSU, GT, NCST, and VT? You are more likely to get all these teams on board being together and you don't let the SEC get any stronger. Plus, if everything is about TV markets, you get a foothold in more states than SEC.
You have to look out for your conference first, not playing nice and letting the SEC in the door. You already see on the front page what will hurt in recruiting and this would alieveate the problem for us. If your son is being recruited by us and UGa, you can drive to all the UGA games. If it's us and FSU, FSU would be the only one to drive to along with WVU. They are both 8 hours away. Get 5 ACC teams and you could drive to all but maybe one in the division with that one being IAST.

Which board? I was on their rivals and scout sites and didn't see anything that would be a "meltdown".
