I think his stats were inflated by the type of DL play we had this year...with the adjustments made to hide our weaker line. I do think he will be a great one, and when the newly signed players join him, it MAY be a better version of the power rangers!

With the great defensive linemen we've had that may be a stretch but I'll certainly be pulling for him to become the best ever.

Dang, are those #'s correct for CW42? As talented as he was, he had to have had more TFLs, did he not? Still one of the best team leaders ever. I think we were missing that element last season. I hope someone steps up huge this yr

I think that you are correct in your assessment . I was concerned going into last season about the loss of leadership that Wilkins provided on every play. I’m not sure we had that on the field in 2019. Hopefully someone will assume that important role this year.

No he had 40.5 TFLs and 16 sacks in his career. Fansided is just the Huffingtonpost of sport sites.

CW had 17.5 TFL's and 5.5 sacks in his first two years, even that does not compare to what the article said. The 40.5 TFL and 16 sacks for career are correct:

Being a true freshman, he had a great year but saying he's the best ever, way to early.

In modern times the best has been Dexter Lawrence. I’ve never seen anyone anchor a gap like him as a freshman.
I’d hate to have to block him.

There you go!!! The stats they gave for CW were actually the stats for Dexter! I agree he was one of the best ever! He did not have the TFL or sacks, because his job was to plug the middle...and few were better at that than him!

Not to mention Dex was practically playing with only one foot his sophomore year.

Wish I had saved the shot of Big DeX--maybe it was here on Tnet--one of the most awesome football photos ever:
DeX splitting a double team with both arms fully extended--his wingspan is 80+--and bearing down on the QB. Photo was shot from behind the QB so you got his perspective on this monster looming over him.
Literally looked like the story pictures of Samson in the Philistines' temple in a childrens Bible.

Still effective for tons of snaps when he was hurt. They still couldn’t move him from his gap.
I’d love to see that picture if you find it.

Where did this guy get those stats for Wilkins??? He had 16 sacks and 40.5 TFL for his Clemson career. This guy is so far off that he must be drinking.

See my earlier post on this thread...Those were the stats for Dex, not CW.

I gave you a point just for using “best ever”

instead of “goat” or even a goat emoji.
Very refreshing.
