I watched some the first day - and thought the prosecution did a good job. But I haven't watched today...

I agree that he will walk or get manslaughter, but I would be surprised if he doesn't get manslaughter though.

You always have to remember that since the Supreme Court ruled the police do not have to serve and protect, the police do not have to render aid.

If you are trained in that technique, and you know it will cut blood flow to the brain, then you know that there is only a certain time frame a person can continue living with a partial blockage of blood to the brain.

Chauvin will walk. Cities will burn. White people will feel guilty even though they weren’t involved at all. Yamaha SHO will start with one turn of the key. Earth will keep spinning.

If he walks there will be riots like the Rodney King riots. That's why the option of a weak 2nd degree manslaughter was thrown in there. They guy will be out in a few years or something not too bad. The system knows they need a conviction.

I sure hope we don’t live in a country where the system “needs a conviction”. But I think you are 100% correct.

yes, when someone is overdosing, the proper treatment is to roll them onto their stomach and jam your knee into their carotid artery for 9 minutes.

I was talking to someone about that earlier. That has to be the worst call to put a knee and all of that weight on someones neck that long who is on drugs who isn't even resisting. That's pretty reckless with someones life. He definitely deserves manslaughter imo.

True. I think he did cause him to die. I think he was susceptible to dying, but without the knee to the neck for 9 minutes that he would have survived. A knee to the neck like that for that long would kill a lot of people with heart issues. I hope he gets manslaughter. I am not passionate about the issue, but that;s what I am hoping the result is. It will be interesting to see what happens. How long is this trial supposed to go on?

The pressure on his neck exasperated things. I feel very confident that without contact with that cop he would be alive today. I am hoping the cops is convicted of the lightest of options which is 2nd degree manslaughter. It will be interesting when the verdict is read. How long is this trial supposed to last?

So you think he would have just casually have been walking down the road and would have died anyway, but this was all just a coincidence? That sucks for he cop. Talk about bad luck and timing. He just happens to hold his knee on the guys neck just at the time the guy was already about to die anyway. God works in mysterious ways.

Well it seems like your mind is made up. Your logic doesn’t seem so sound to me though.
The ME stated that the cause of death was "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression."
This means that Floyd stopped breathing and his heart stopped beating (cardiopulmonary arrest) because of the injury caused by his restraint in the custody of law enforcement officers.
The heart disease and presence of drugs found during the autopsy are on the death certificate because those findings, in the opinion of the medical examiner, would have made his death more likely. They are not the cause of death. The cause of death is police restraint.
Your argument seems to be that had George Floyd been found dead in his home these other conditions would have been listed as the cause of death. I agree with this, but that’s not the case. He wasn’t found dead in his home, he died right after being restrained and having a knee on his neck for almost 9 minutes. If Chauvin really played no role in George Floyd’s death, he may be the most unlucky guy on the planet.

Are you suggesting he would have had a respiratory arrest the second that he did, had his neck not been under a knee?
Getting too far into the minutiae of an autopsy report and what comorbidities he might have had is missing the forest for the trees. The cops' actions caused him to die, plain and simple. Was it premeditated, or an accident? I suppose that's the question that needs solving.
I say this not from a position of choosing one side or the other or "hoping" for any particular outcome from said trial.

So the guy who walked into a store, walked out a store, and was alert and speaking had a lethal narcotic overdose causing his respiratory arrest, and it's just a stroke of happenstance that he happened to have his face in asphalt and a knee on his neck when this happened.
I'm not talking about some granular legal definition of murder or culpability. Let's just all have a reality-based understanding that the interaction with these officers resulted in his death. No blame need be assigned here.

he knew exactly what he was doing. He kept his knee on the guy for an additional minute after the other officer told him he could not find a pulse.

T3 is somewhere in here completely ignoring how restricting bloodflow to the brain for 9 minutes will absolutely lead to death
while at the same time blaming drugs/ an enlarged heart as the killer.
Surely it wasn't that this cop's knee starved the brain of oxygen until he died. It had to be something else.
Fact is, there is no excuse at all for a HANDCUFFED AND SUBDUED person to have a knee on his neck for 9 minutes with multiple other cops there to help get him in the back of a car.
Unfortunately they are over charging this dude with second degree murder ect. He should absolutely be guilty of second degree manslaughter.
He'll walk and the city will burn to the ground.

Wait wait! What ....you need to compress both arteries to choke someone out? 1 side is not enough to do the trick? The neck restraint is a ‘blood & wind choke’ hold not so different than a rear naked “sleeper” hold, or triangle choke, and its only 1 side need to get mashed. Ummmm think you need to do some research before posting them kinda facts
