Here are 3 you might consider: Banks McFadden - not sure how you classify a tailback in a single wing offense Fred Cone Buddy Gore

He was a terrific receiver from the backfield, not sure if he is top 10 but I would put him up there.

Joe Henderson has gotta be in the top 10 as well. He and Terry Allen were the original Thunder and Lightning in my mind.

from the ones I have seen play while ive been alive:
1)Spiller 2)JD 3)AE 4)Jasmin 5)Zachary 6)Merriweather
And thats about all I got lol. Ive heard about Preister and McFadden but having never seen them play I will leave it to the older Tigers to decide where they rank.

Blew out his knee. That crushed a young football loving tiger. I think he then left early for NFL.

My memory is of 1970 forward, so I cant speak about earlier, But Yarger should probably be on that list as well, maybe an old timer can help there. the best I have seen include:
Kenny Flowers Preister Allen Ellington Spiller R Williams
Give me those 6 and 4 pre-1970 guys and that would be the list.

somethng happened to Flowers. i think he got injured, but he was crazy good for a year or 2.
was an Adrian Peterson type.
i remember when we had Flagler and Flowers in the same backfield. they were as good as Spiller and Davis. if not maybe a little better.
straight up.

Flowers blew out his knee at an away game at Georgia. He was special before that.

Buddy Gore and Terry Allen were the two best Tiger backs I've ever seen. Both had near-perfect combinations of speed, power, and lateral agility. That said, Cone and McFadden were way before my time, so I can't speak to their abilities, although they were surely great!
