This kid can play! Can’t wait to see him this spring.

Yeah he can. It's a darn shame and very telling we didn't even offer Carnell Tate to be a nice duo. He was our biggest recruiter for sure. He'll push Cade and the qb room will continue the strong bond they have.

Maybe we'll have some packages where Vizz lines up at WR or vice versa. Lol

I would advise Christopher and any other incoming college

freshman, take your time and make an informed decision on your major. And, once you make that decision, apply yourself fully in the classroom. What you choose, and the grades you make, will both have a huge impact on your future earning potential.

Why do I say this for even a kid who may possess NFL talent? I say it because the woods are full of failed NFL dreams, and staking your whole future on that would be a very foolish decision indeed. Just ask someone like Marcus Lattimore. He will tell you how, even if you HAVE the talent, it can all be taken away in an instant, and you better have a good backup plan.

Even without injury, most NFL careers are over by the time the player is 30-35 years old. There are some notable exceptions but most are finished playing ball by that age. They will need to be prepared for a life after football. This is what Dabo does so well with his program. If they do make some money playing football either in the pros or now in college with NIL, they would have the capital to start pretty much any type of business they want. A business degree is a great choice for these guys. Either way, getting the degree is important and I think both Cade and Chris are bright young guys that understand this and should do well, both in football and beyond.

Or coaching. A lot of ex players become coaches and you need a degree. Before NIL, a lot of people online, called these College football players slaves. But, it’s a free education if you take advantage of that and a life changing experience. The NFL is only a pipe dream for most, go to class and work at that degree because in the end that may be all you get.

I have, we have seen a lot of young guys come to Clemson for sports and thumb their noses at the fine education that they could have gotten while at Clemson. The once a Tiger, always a Tiger is fine for what it's worth, but those that thumbed their noses at the education part of an absolutely free ride scholarship, and if they don't make it in the NFL, or they lose that career bc of an injury, I don't feel bad for them one bit bc they had a free chance given to them to insure a good life with the education they could have received, and they chose to turn their back on it for a dream when students without an athletic bone in their body had to work their butts off to get what some athletes chose to pass on, and I'll never have a feel sorry for them moment!!!!

Did you go to college?

The grades you make in college have essentially zero impact on your future earnings. I haven't been asked about my college GPA once

76er’s post makes a lot of sense

2

Jan 6, 2023, 1:25 PM

Try reading 76er’s post more carefully.

He’s advising incoming FR FB players to put munc consideration into their selection of a collegiate major.

A student who is committed to his major is more likely to have better grades, and therefore … this is the key … have more and better FIRS5 JOB opportunities.

(***). Having a quality first job opportunity makes it more likely that the new employee will (1) work harder and with more passion because he/she likes where they are; (2) will be compensated better at the ‘good’ employer than they would if working for a second-rate company; and (3) enjoy the benefit of higher quality mentors than would be the case if their employer was in the ‘second tier’ category.

One’s overall / long term financial well-being is always helped for those that start out strong in their careers.

There is a lot to be said about compound interest & value of long-term investment in IndexFunds & selected commodities.

Some people just wake up looking to argue about something. All the guy was saying was get your d"mn degree, son, and it makes a huge difference. Nobody said a thing about a 4.0 GPA.

"Some people" ?

Also, I wanted to bring up something about Vizzina that hall should like. Way back before all these guys committed, a Longhorn recruiting guy named Gerry Hamilton was talking about Arch Manning. Out of the blue, he brought up Vizzina and spoke very, very highly of him saying something like he was at the top, or near the top of Hamilton’s recruiting board.
He’s a good player and I hope he sticand doesn’t leave for playing time. He’s going to be only one year behind Klubnik.

The best man gets to start.

If Vizz learns the entire offense and quickly masters his decision making process, then he’ll be competing with his abilities vs. CK2’s abilities.

Best players play.

I hope Dabo makes the QB position a competition again

Jan 6, 2023, 12:41 PM

I like Cade a lot and think he would have been much better prepared had Dabo not stuck with a head case for the whole season.

But if Cades not getting it done, CV should get a shot.

If CK2 gets displaced during 2023 season by Vizz, then I could foresee CK2 hitting the portal.

Vizz, on the other hand, could conceivably be RS’d (ala UNC QB Drake Mayes … when 2nd on depth chart to Sam Howell) if CK2 plays well enough to be the clear starter.

With Vizz then ready to play in 2024, he (as RS FR) would be behind then-Junior CK2. If CK2 blows it out as a JR and goes NFL, then Vizz would be in position to start and star for us in 2025 as a RS sophomore.

This scenario seems more likely - still Vizzina will be one injury from game time.

Paul Tyson has 2 years of eligibility too! He is a wild card?

Blessed with 3 quality QB’s in 2023!

Go Tigers!
