I surely hope that Monte does better this coming season, but baseball coaches are of a greater disadvantage to basketball, and FB coaches. And if you read my other post in this thread, I think that you will agree

Read full post, then tell if you agree!!!
So in others words, for saving this and rereading it, is the same as saying if things aren't perfect, and we don't end up winning the Natty in baseball, you would like this to be shoved back into Monte's face. Are do you fully expect, or want Monte to fail.
I just don't look at things that way, I expect Monte to succeed, and if he don't fulfill all of his goals for this season, I expect him to fill most of them. What some fall to realize, is that Monte was fairly successful at College of Charleston, and it was bc he knows baseball, but at Clemson the expectations are much higher, and he himself has to learn to be successful at a big program like Clemson, and not react to the pressure of coaching at a big time baseball program like Clemson. He just needs to come in everyday and be loose like he did at college of Charleston, and I believe that he will learn to do that at Clemson.
I know that 6 full seasons should have been enough for Monte to get acclimated to a big time program as Clemson, but he has had the covid season like everyone else, but he has also lost a lot of his top prospects to the major leagues that could have helped to get him over the hump, and I'm talking about top players that was committed to our BB program that would have made a huge difference if they would stayed and played a couple of seasons for Monte, and our baseball program!!! The MLB has hurt Monte's progress, or lack of progress at Clemson!!!!
I do believe firing Monte without giving him at least 10 years, it would be a mistake. Baseball is one of our 3 major sports at Clemson, but it don't have the same advantages as FB, or Basketball for the amount of full ride scholarships that is available.
D-1 FB has 85 full ride scholarships available to fill their roster. It takes 22 players to make up a team.
Basketball has 13 full ride scholarships to fill their roster, and it takes 5 players to make up the team.
Baseball only has 11.7 full ride scholarships to hand out, and it takes 9 players to make up a team. IMO, Baseball is put at a huge disadvantage with only 11.7 scholarship to field a team of 9 players, but on average they have to have 6-7 pitchers ready to play, and pitcher can't play every game, and Baseball plays more games a season than any of the other two major sports when we're talking Clemson's 3 major sports, SO YES without a doubt, a Baseball coach should have more time to build a solid program!!!!

Basketball gets 13 ships or 2.6 times the number of game players. Football gets 3.86x game positions. Baseball should receive at least 2x the lineup number. Baseball definitely gets the shaft from the NCAA which underserves minority prospects.

I know some schools like Vanderbilt have an endowment and a tuition schedule that essentially gives them extra scholarships. However, most coaches have the same disadvantages as Lee. Since we are judging him on how he performs against programs under the same rules, I don't see why he should be given a longer leash. We fired Leggett who had a history of success because of a downward trend well short of 10 years. As far as I am concerned, if we are not hosting a regional or playing in a super regional it is time for a coaching search.
