Completely 100% without a doubt the correct call. The runner at 2nd clearly reached out with his left hand and grabbed the Carolina 2nd basemen around the waist. Easy call to make and the rule calls for all runners to return to the original base in the case of runner interference.

he tried to grab him. he does have to avoid trying to grab the opposing player. yall should be mad at the baserunner, not the ump.

No he doesn't have to avoid the fielder but he can't make a move outside of sliding into the base to try and disrupt him.

I think that if the double play did not work then call interference. If the double play was successful then don't call it. The Coots were giving up the run for the two outs and they got what they wanted. Not a good call in my opinion.
