Was fixing to post it myself. Below is the excerpts talking about CBV if someone doesn't care to read the entire article. The way I see it, if Lehman is indeed correct that "Brent wants the job and that's a fact" then if I'm CBV, I couldn't take it because that means ou AD team is slow playing Brent. Correct? I mean, if that statement is true, then it's a total slap in the face to Brent that he's not in Oklahoma being announced yesterday.
Seriously, reading this article and listening to AD cag, what an ego a s s - coaches you wouldn't expect lining up at the door, give me a break. Bama is the only college FB job where that is true. Any reasonable person knows taking the ou job now is a powder keg. It's going to be a rude awakening when OKC gets into the SEC. And not just FB, all the sports they're used to dominating the conference titles will be struggling. Baseball, softball, bball, golf etc will take a hit.
"One name widely believed to be a strong candidate — many former Sooners certainly want him back in Norman — is Brent Venables. The former Bob Stoops lieutenant and current Clemson defensive coordinator “wants the job. That is a fact,” former OU All-American linebacker Teddy Lehman said during his radio show, and has gotten broad support from his old players."

Speak up for TD'ing this post. What in it do you disagree with?
If CBV is their top candidate and "CBV wants the job-thats a fact" then why hasn't he already been named? Don't just TD, speak up. I never TD anyone.

One of my pet peeves, if you feel strongly enough to TD, let us know why. I've only given a TD twice, both for ungentlemanly behavior. Both times I posted that I had given a TD and why. If you TD, own it.

He may want the job but it appears they want to do their due diligence and speak with the other coaches before making a decision. Honestly it doesn't really make much sense for a premier program like OK to hire somebody who has never been a head coach if they have several other very successful head coaches to choose from.

Yes, I think BV wanting the job at OU is a lot of grandstanding by OU people.

Well I have my TD fairy, just curious what their beef is. It concerns me what this teddy Lehman former all American is saying. Unless I'm mistaken, he's kinda like a don Munson for ou.
I mean if Don was on Clemson radio saying Brent was at the top of the list and wanted the ou job, I'd put a lot of cred into it. Maybe I'm mistaken on what Lehman does for ou.

Great assessment, however you are mistaken about Lehman. Teddy Lehman is an all American who played for Veneables. He is not a Don Munson for OU

I don't think many folks do. And those who do aren't talking.
This thing has gone from "any minute now" to "monday or Tuesday" to "at the basketball game" to "by Friday" to "through the weekend."
So many reporters selling subscriptions saying outlandish things like Dabo to Oklahoma, or "it's a done deal, just ignore that these coaches are all doing their prior jobs they're actually double secret agents for Oklahoma"
This is a golden opportunity for Venables ... if he wants it. The longer it goes, the more it feels like one of the two parties has decided they want more time. OU would be right in leaving no stone unturned, but if they wanted Brent as much as these "sources" say they do, and Brent was ready to drop everything for the job, wouldn't he already be there? What's the logic in holding off?
Besides, and the bottom line is this ... until it gets fed to Brett McMurphy, Pete Thamel -- writers of that caliber who break news like this regularly ... don't trust the unverified "my source in Norman" reporters.
