Muscoot is NOT a great recruiter

His recruiting performance is on average with USCe most recent 15-year history, and gotten worse each year for the past 3.
USCe class rank over time per Rivals. Why the complaints that the program was in bad shape, when recruiting was on par with current?
Muschamp: 2019 - 22 2018 - 18 2017 - 16 2016 - 26
Spurrier: 2015 - 19 2014 - 16 2013 - 16 2012 - 19 2011 - 18 2010 - 24 2009 - 12 2008 - 22 2007 - 6 2006 - 24 2005 - 23
Holtz: 2004 - 35 2003 - 8 2002 - 11

The coots benefit from the fact that Dabo can recruit nationally which leaves some good players in our state available.
The coots are 9th or 10th best in the own conference in recruiting and are no where close to closing the gap on Clemson.
Not sure it ends well for Muschamp in the next few years if teams like Tennessee improve. They already can't beat UGA or Kentucky. Florida is only going to get better as is Missouri. They play A&M every year. Think the coot fans are going to accept 7 and 5 or 6 and 6 every year?

They really don't have a choice but to accept then7-5 or 6-6. They get what it is and nothing more.

Not to point out the obvious, but 7-5 is actually much better than their historical winning %. We all laugh about 7 wins getting you a raise in Columbia, but Muscoot's sparkling 19-16 record against FBS opponents (which includes UMass, Coastal Carolina & Akron, among others) is also better than their average.
And don't forget, they are leading the state in Moral Victories

That really just shows how bad the recruiting websites are at evaluating talent.
In that 2014 class we got 4-5 contributors out of that class and the lowest ranked one was by far the best one.

the braintrust at FGF is much better at talent evaluation.
This is the same group of moral defectives who predicted 9 or 10 wins and an $EC-Least Championship in 2018.

Seems fairly accurate to me... Muschamp gets classes between 18-25 range and add in his ability to develop the players he brings in and you end up with a team ranked somewhere around 35-40 sitting at 7-5.
Clemson lately has been 6-10 range and with Dabo’s ability to motivate and coach up players we are consistently top 4 every year.
Seems very accurate to me, what am I missing?

ever for SC. That is with a class made up of 9 lineman and two TE’s out of 19. I enjoy it when a rival starts posting about our coach, means he is doing something right.

By never having a chance to beat Dabo or out recruit Dabo being doing something right... than yes. Muschamp is crushing it.

Rival??? I hope your chicken swarm can make it competitive in another 10 years. However, Boomshat ain’t the coots’ savior you wish him to be.

1. As long as Tanner is AD, I think Muschamp is safe. 2. Muschamp is a good enough coach and recruiter to win 7-8 games a year. 3. I believe most S.C. fans have come to the realization that going 7-5 8-4 is a great year for them.
The only caviat to this is if Muschamp keeps losing to us, things could get ugly.
