For those saying fire CBB

I get it and understand it... Yes Clemson won 13 conference wins which is an amazing. That's it that's all we as fan as say.

Clemson has to make it to the finals in order to get an invite due to the fact our loses are terrible. If Clemson does make it to the finals I think we make it in to the tournament.

This whole thing of a 3rd place team in the acc should be an AQ for the tournament just stop... You have to look at the big picture. Don't give me "oh if UNC had our schedule they would be a 6th seed blah blah blah.."

This Clemson team is very talented and they lost games that they shouldn't and they lost them bad.

So I'm going to break this down for fans that maybe don't know the history...

CBB when he is on the "hot seat" he actually does well and guess what gets an extension when in reality he doesn't deserve it but prior management gave it. Then the results after the extension we get back to normal CBB basketball. This ACC season has been extremely low competition as far as normal seasons. It's great we have taken advantage of those circumstances

BUT..... Here is the thing... take the orange glasses off for a second.. Can you honestly say if looking in a mirror and say... CBB is the guy that will take us to the next level after year 13? How many said you know what Tommy Bowden was the coach that he would flirt with success but ultimately you knew deep down in your heart he wasn't going to do more than what we are seeing... That's where so many fans are with basketball. We love the this team b/c we love the players and what they have done, but we also know that this coach will not bring us over the hump and into a new age.

"New age that is laughable too it's Clemson basketball what are you thinking"... Well a lot of people if you stop being so reactive in the moment said the same thing about football. "We had the the glory years in the 80's it's over now" Guess what it wasn't. The same with this team. If we go to the NCAA then yes CBB gets another year.. IF that does happen I hope Neff doesn't give him an extension we need to see him do it again.

No matter what most if not all want to see Clemson succeed in all sports, but we've been there for the ups and downs. I do get it with what "experts" are saying that Clemson is on the outside. This team if we are hot could beat almost any team truly but at the same time I know we could beat ourselves and not adjust to better ourselves.

One glaring difference from football is that basketball has never had any “Glory Years.” Ever. The Tigers have had, arguably, five “glory” (for Clemson) individual seasons, spread out over about 40 years, but never “Years” in the plural.

That is very true... but before 2016 how many "Glory years" would you truly give Clemson football?

1948, 1950, 1959, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2014, 2015 (18 seasons, so those years). If you’re looking by multiple years of competitive/solid and good to great football, I’d say 1948-51, 1955-59, 1977-1991, and 2011-2015. Those would all classify prior to 2016.

Typically "glory years" is used to mean a range of years where a program is at its best.

We are currently playing in the glory years.

FYI, Clemson won 14 conference games. Our ACC record is 14-6.

Should have been 16-4 and ACC regular season champions if we didn't drop games at Boston College and Louisville that we had no business losing.

Well, BC also beat UVA, so that loss is not nearly as ugly as the LSV loss.

Just winning the LSV game puts us in a 3-way tie for regular season with UVA and Miami at 15-5. We still come in # due to tiebreakers.

But yes. The BC and LSV games are game we ought to have won and with those victories CBB would actually have won the ACC regular season title. Instead, he got outcoached and the team got outplayed, just like they did against Loyola-Chicago and SCAR.

At a minimum the Louisville game and Clemson would be co-champions.

Your reasoning is flawed. Our basketball program has never been at the next level. We have had a few years of good progress followed by a coach bolting for a better program but never sustained success at the next level
