Make a list of things we do in everyday life that puts others lives in Danger. I would do it for you but I’m sure you still would argue that it’s not the same.

Drive a car, drink alcohol and drive, smoke, abortions, drugs
That’s without taking much time.
The weak mindset of our younger generation is frightening. Can you imagine many of them riding a Higgins boat into a suicide mission? Me neither. They would cry that they should be having Starbucks and on social media instead. It’s somebody else’s responsibility to do the heavy lifting.

It can't be as weak as the mindset of those who refuse to protect THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY GOT INTO THE HIGGINS BOAT.
It's a shame that there are so many cowardly people who refuse to help those who risked all to give us our freedom.

Thank you for you service. It is indeed because of veterans that we have the rights that we do.
Which is why I am more than willing to limit that freedom, my freedom, if there is the slightest chance that it could benefit those veterans at risk and their families.
There is no right or wrong here. There are actions that we choose to take. I choose to do whatever I can, no matter how insignificant, to help prevent any spread of the virus. If you choose to increase your exposure and become a disease vector, then that is your right.
The funny thing is, as we learn more about this virus and its long term effects, it might not be just the vets that a mask and shutdown protects. That family you protect might just be your own. https://www.healthline.com/health-news/lifelong-lung-damage-the-serious-covid-19-complication-that-can-hit-people-in-their-20s

cdtbud, finally data based argument. Our soldiers died for our country which is a society of diversity. I know this is very hard for many of the posters but individual rights are subservient to the good of society that we live in. Try this: your are the only person in the US, do any #### thing you want. Get to several hundred move west away from others do what ever you want, grow to 350 million in an integrated society then hopefully we can accept some common responsibilities. Argue yes, but succeed together. Its not cdtbut who should seek a new country but those who think they are so special that nothing but their desires matter.

Have I started a thread about those things? No, I haven't, but I personally haven't started one about Covid-19 either. However, who hasn't gotten upset over the way someone else drives before? You can find countless videos and discussions on the internet about bad drivers. I'd say most people who don't smoke have probably been bothered by second hand smoke before as well.

Not saying we don’t get upset over other areas in life that cause danger, we all do. Just stating that a lot of people on here want to down grade individuals who choose not to wear a mask like they are cruel and mean individuals. It’s a persons rights to choose either way and the ones that choose to do so that’s fine. Just quit being Aholes on here to the ones that choose not to, it’s Ridiculous. They never complained about the other areas that cause just as much or more death .

I think it's simply because many people feel that wearing a mask will help reduce the rate of spread which will also reduce the amount of deaths. I think anytime someone feels that the actions of someone else is putting others in danger you'll see a large amount of judging.
I'd say it's a lot like the attitude towards drunk drivers. I think most people get angry when they hear about someone being injured or killed by a drunk driver. That could've been avoided by someone calling a friend or a cab to drive them home.
To be clear, I haven't been perfect with the masks myself. It's hard to remember to do so all the time. I usually keep mine in my car, and have found myself riding with friends and not having a mask with me. I've also found myself walking towards the store and having to go back to my car to get my mask because I forgot it.
I get that it's different and annoying. I just personally don't get deciding you flat out refuse to ever wear one because it's inconvenient to you, and that everyone else can just stay at home if they're in a risk group. I find that statement works both ways, and that if a mask is so inconvenient to someone that they could just stay at home as well.
To me it's a lot like the smokers who do so right outside the entrance to a store, or the ones who do it while walking back to their car and not noticing/caring that the smoke is blowing back into the face of someone walking behind them. Or the smokers who throw their cigarette butts all over the ground instead of properly disposing of them.

And for the record, thank you and thank the OP for your service. I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, and I'm not typically one to call anyone an idiot or anything similar just for having a different opinion.
I'm just sad that the level of caring for each other has gotten so low that putting on a mask for a short amount of time is just asking too much. I get that some people seem to think that wearing a mask won't actually protect anyone. Heck, I'm not a medical professional myself.
However, in any other context, I feel that every single person on here would say yes to doing something for 30 minutes or less that would have zero negative effects on them if it meant there was even a 5% chance of helping to prevent someone from dying or even from becoming sick.

Just like it is your right to scream “Fire!” in a crowded movie theater, right?
You understand that rights are derived from the social contract and that contract is malleable to the needs of the nation? There’s nothing inalienable about not wearing a mask.
As long as people feel it is their right to not wear a mask in public spaces, I will freely express my first amendment right to call them moronic ingrates lacking in discipline and compassion. So get used to it or mask up, your choice.1

So enlightening us on how to use these words to others . Do you call little boys or girls Moronic Ingrates who do not wear mask in public to their face . Do you mumble the words under your mask to yourself when a grown man walks by and then bow your chest out ? Or is it simply typing on a keyboard as you bow up with such aggression? I know what the answer is just courious how you see it . When I see a person with a mask on I simply say hello and don’t think down upon them at all . Of course I was raised in the south and have manners .

If you had manners, you’d put on a mask, simply by not wearing one you make it clear how little you value others wellbeing. I don’t go in public right now because of people like you who refused to cooperate because it somehow infringes on some imaginary right and I’m currently helping take care of my father-in-law who has underlying health issues that make him a prime candidate to be a statistic in the pandemic. Thank god we live in a world where I can have everything dropped off at our doorstop and I can continue to work from behind a computer, I’m very blessed in that respect. But those that continue to proudly boast their own selfishness, even online, ought to hear someone proudly express the opposition.

Well that answered my question about you call people names ( on the keyboard ). Maybe I have missed the ones proudly boasting about not wearing mask. I have commented several times about TOOLS talking down upon people for choosing not to wear a mask like they are low lives . I have also committed several times that I respect a person wearing a mask just as the TOOLS should respect someone that chooses not to do so. If I had a problem with someone doing something in public I sure wouldn’t get on a keyboard and try to downgrade them, however I know some women that would.

First of all you have insulted me multiple times, so let’s not act above that at this point, but it’s fair, I threw the first stone.
In fact, I’d like to apologize. To be clear, I do not respect your decision to not wear a mask, but you we’re fairly civil before I shot my mouth off, and there was no reason to insult you. It certainly doesn’t help me get my point across.
Maybe I’m a bit on edge about the whole thing because we have had our own covid scare in our family, and after losing my father several years ago to someone texting and driving, I’m not keen on losing my father-in-law to someone who couldn’t be bothered to wear a mask because we as a country don’t seem capable of taking responsibility for our actions any longer.
And to your point there are several on this site that proudly boast not wearing masks, but I shouldn’t have grouped you in with them. You can find them on pretty much every covid thread or threads about renaming racist sports mascots. And while it’s passable that you respect others that do wear a mask, that does not mean you are owed any respect in kind by those willing to make small sacrifices for your lack thereof. In other words, if you act anti-social, prepare to met with an antisocial response.
Again, apologies for the name calling, was not necessary or deserved, but I would strongly urge you to reconsider your stance on wearing a mask. But there are probably plenty of things we would agree on over a beer, so I’ll get off my soap box and refrain from any other insults.

Bingo. We all are going to die of something. Have to live life. Our days were numbered by God the day we were conceived.
Regardless, it will all be gone November 4th or won’t be an issue anymore.

So what age is it that isn't too old to not care about? The OP mentions people above 90 having a higher death rate than people under 65, but then decides to leave out people aged 65-89. Do people in that age range also not matter? Do people in the 55-64 age range which makes up 9% of the Florida Covid-19 deaths matter? What about people in the 25-54 age range which make up a combined 7% of the Covid-19 deaths in Florida?
I agree we shouldn't all live in fear, and we shouldn't all stay bundled up in our homes without leaving. However, I question how doing a simple thing like putting on a mask for the short amount of time a person happens to be in a store is such a huge ask for so many people that they'd rather take the attitude of "old people are going to die soon anyway."

My point was mainly don’t shut down the country. We can’t survive that. A positive Covid test isn’t a dear sentence for 99% of mankind but media and politicians pushing it like it is. That’s BS.
