It's time to just give Lincoln Riley his due

Jalen Hurts numbers at Oklahoma are insane, I know a lot of my fellow Tiger fans & myself included thought he was kind of overrated at BAMA, his projected numbers over a 14 game season (including a conference title game & bowl or CFP game):
228 attempts 308 completions 4,148 passing yards 40 passing TD's 6 Ints 168 Rushes 1,410 Rushing Yards 20 Rushing TD's
5,558 Total Yards 60 Total TD's
For perspective Deshaun Watson's best season for total yards & TD's which was a 15 game season: 5,222 Total Yards 50 Total TD's
Maybe Clemson's OC's might want to start copying some of that offense OU runs?

yeah well I guess we will see, so far it hasn't, pretty sure Oklahoma runs the table through the weak Big 12 (which is really only 10 teams), but Oklahoma's D is much better this year, so that makes OU a much more scary prospective opponent than in years past.

Is there defense much better though?
I do think they are improved but I'm not yet convinced that it's by a lot.
I guess when you consider how terrible they were, then they are a lot better.
Not sure they are above average on defense though. It remains to be seen.
They won't be challenged in-season though because nobody on their schedule can stop their offense.

OU's defense is much better this year 50.4 pts a game on offense/19.4 pts a game on defense
Clemson: 40.0/12.0
BAMA: 48.7/16.4
LSU: 50.1/20.0
Ohio State: 49.7/8.0
Penn State 40.0/10.0
Based upon these numbers I believe any of these teams can beat each other on a given day, turnovers many times ends up being the determining factor in these match ups, falling behind early can ruin even the best laid game plan.

Welcome to the Big 12. They play defense like a Spanish bullfighter.

Stats =/= offensive power

Sorry to burst your bubble. But when you play in the No Defense BIG12, no amount of stats matter. Tigers could put up 100 each game against their opponents. Oklahoma has the 73rd ranked SOS so far while Clemson is 30 spots lower.

Just let this sink in. The coots passed on Lincoln Riley saying he was too young. That says a lot about their athletic department.

You really thought this through, and still came up flat. Its not that you're stupid, you just have bad luck thinking.

1st off- L. Riley is a great college coach, and his scheme is the reason these players win heismans and for the perceived "turn around" of Hurts. Hurts was always a serviceable QB with some traits to like. hes a gifted runner with good instincts when he takes off. and hes a handful to stop running downhill at his size, for any defense. L. Rileys scheme, much like Leachs as Wazzu ,is built around the qb with quick simple reads and as soon as defenders get with 3 yards of Hurts hes gone. nut it works in the big 12. the big 12 is down in top to bottom competition, just like acc. hurts is running scheme to perfection, but in my opinion - WILL NOT translate to the playoffs, and wont be a starting QB in NFL. sorry for the novel, tired of hearing how great EVERYONE else is BUT my tigers!! GO TIGERS! fire up the ROY bus- THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

I am a Tigers fan first and foremost, all I am saying is that Lincoln Riley is able to take QB's & make their production much better, OU has a much better D this year & won't be an easy out, just giving dude the respect he deserves

LR looked like a complete roob arguing the review disposition. If it had been his team and they didn’t review it he would have committed murder. It looked like he initially said to the ref “I’ll have your A$$ for this...”

Lincoln Riley appears to be Kevin Sumlin on steroids. Very strong steroids.
I'll give him another year to see if he can field a legit defense.
