SPUD Fishing Point of View Needed

Jan 23, 2023, 8:47 AM

I saw a post with the comment "hook, line and sinker" today. In my years of fishing I don't think I ever had a fish swallow the sinker? Your thoughts? Spud

For me, with my limited and mostly unsuccessful fishing

knowledge, anytime there was a hook, line AND sinker involved, you were bottom fishing, which, in fresh water, usually meant catfish. And, those suckers WOULD just about inhale the bait, more than once I had to detach the hook from WAY down the cat's gullet. This certainly put the sinker in their mouf, as well.

:)

In fishing tournaments with a lot of money involved, you sometimes find a fish that swallowed a lot of lead sinkers..... :)

Yep! But, “OL’ Spud” never would stoop that low.

Some even swallow sinkers with fish fillets wrapped around them.

Yes. Yes they do. Chickens do too.***
