Would you rather see Sammy go a little later in the draft?

Mar 6, 2014, 6:43 PM

Judging from all the talking heads i've watched, it looks like Sammy could go as high as 3rd in the draft. I think I would rather see him drop below the top 5 and get on a team like Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, or Buffalo (6-9) rather than Jacksonville, Cleveland, or Oakland (3-5). I'm sure he would get a little more money up front if he goes higher, but I think he would have a much better stage to showcase and improve his skills if he goes to someone below 5th. I wonder what he would prefer. If it was me, I would want to stay as far away from Oakland or Cleveland as possible (for many reasons).

#29 to new england sounds about right :)

could end up in buffalo with cj

Good post. IMHO some team will trade up for Sammy.

Mar 6, 2014, 8:18 PM

I've thought Oakland might trade up to #2 for QB, and Rams trade down to #5 and pick up Watkins or Offensive Tackle. All conjecture, but like you state it would be sweet to see Sammy on competitive team ...

Not so sure Atlant is the place to be.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Denver or Seattle would be sweet!

Mar 6, 2014, 10:15 PM

but they would have to trade up, which is not likely.
I really hope Sammy can avoid teams like Oakland and Cleveland. Charlotte or Atlanta would be sweet too. That way we could watch him play. Plus I think he would be a star there can could help them make playoffs and more.

Someone will trade up for Sammy

Mar 6, 2014, 10:47 PM

The way the scouts are talking about him they know he is very special player. If I was an NFL GM I would rather have Sammy than a great OT or defensive player.
But my glasses are Orange...

This is a VERY deep WR class. I think Sammy will be the first WR taken so he'll go top 7. Unfortunately, most of the teams with a top 7 pick need a QB to throw to him.

In a perfect world for me the Panthers would trade up for him. We desperately need offensive weapons and at least one more great WR. I'm not sure what's going on with Steve Smith but it would be awesome to have Sammy take lessons from him for a year.
