So...the Panthers traded McCaffery...

While I am not a big Panthers fan, that is to say I'm not a Panthers fan at all, it's pretty clear that the team has effectively and completely thrown in the towel on the 2022 season when you consider they will have a new coaching staff next year (former head coach Matt Rhule was fired weeks ago), possibly a new QB since Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold don't appear to the answer, their situation at WR is a mess (DJ Moore is the only legitimate threat now that Robbie Anderson has been traded to the Cardinals), none of the TE's are legitimate weapons, the OL ranks near the bottom of the league most statistical categories, and now the face of the franchise has been traded to the 49ers for future draft picks. If I didn't know better, I might think the uof7c athletic department is also in charge of the Panthers. Wow...just wow !!!

And with that trade goes my, and many others, reason for watching the Panthers.

They are liking in line to get CJ Stroud or Bryce Young with a high pick in the 1st, but maybe they will finally draft a few Clemson Tigers with the bevy of picks from the 49ers.

Exactly. I don’t want any Clemson players near the Tepper. Right now, the Tepper is turning that organization into NFL’s version of Bluestar Airlines. I won’t even go into what he did to the state of SC with the practice facility move. He’s an absolute clown joke of an owner. CMC did well to get out.

They need to trade that high draft pick for more picks

Like the Jets and the Dolphins did a few years back. Getting one good player when you could have multiple is what you need in a rebuild. BTW, not sold on Stroud or Young being anything better than backups in the NFL. They both strike me as good players on great college teams.

The Panthers are a train wreck and McCaffery was 75% of their offense. Happy he won’t waste his career on a dead end street, especially this year. They’re playing now for the #1 pick in next years draft and a QB. It’s a win win for SF, Mcaffery and the Panthers. He’ll open up SF’s offense and provide the Panthers multiple draft picks to rebuild their offense. Neither Mayfield or Doornail was the answer at QB. They wasted time by bringing back Ham Newton prior to Doornail and Mayfield, heck, he could no longer run or pass. As many have stated, unsure why they don’t look just south for more quality draft stock (Clemson) ?

to trade that NO. 1 pick for multiple picks in other rounds to help with their rebuilding effort, but somehow, I doubt it.

It's clear the 49ers are going Super Bowl or bust. Keep in mind Marshall Faulk in his prime only garnered a 2nd and 5th round pick. In today's football teams don't want to give up assets for the RB position. CMC can't stay on the field, 2020, 2021, and so far in 2022 combined he has played in 16 total games...there's 17 games in a season and now he's on a playoff team. What's the likelihood he's even on the field come the postseason? The Panthers do a lot of dumb stuff but this isn't one of them.

The Panthers are so bad that they go into the category of who cares. The Panthers are an NC team and I my local team has always been Atlanta.
