Shipley

It seems like some time around the 2nd Qtr of the FSU game, the game slowed down for Shipley, or he started playing a lot faster. I believe he is going to smoke Louisville. Throw in Mafah as a change of pace, and the passing game comes alive. FSU has a talented roster, they still have a ton of 4* defensive and skill players. They could not cover Beaux Collins without getting PI called. As hard as it is to say, the offense had their best game against FSU, and I think this will be the first week that our offense puts up 30+ points.

Fun fact, in TX Shipley makes a doughnut the size of a pizza…..and it’s really good.

I believe it is possible but I know nothing about Louisville’s defense yet. Hopefully I will start studying up on it tomorrow or Thursday and try to get a better feel.

My quick check of the Defensive stats for Louisville shows their defense is not very good so unless we have some surprising Covid issues or injuries and if we don’t miss 3 field goals again we could possibly score 30, but I am not ready to go there without more study of Louisville’s D, and their opponents.

It’s possible to break 30, FSU is 74th in scoring defense and Louisville is 76th. The biggest difference is that we are away this week. Couple that with another offensive line change could be a rough combination for an already struggling offensive unit.

Like you, concerned that (AGAIN) there is a continuity problem on the O-Line.
Paul Tchio may be starting R-Guard (not a bad player, but for reasons which the coaches know has nevertheless played sporadically).
Hopefully Tchio can hold his own if Putnam is too messed up with his ankle to start.

A fun fact is your are up near midnight thinking on this and I reply. Drunks fuel Tnet and they passed out an hour ago. He does seem to be getting stronger. Sad all this is on a freshman.

He is incredibly talented and a natural leader.

I worry about his durability though.

He is as tough as the next guy. No way he should be called on for 25 carries and etc. Pace will be back.

Been waiting on a breakaway run from him. Seems he's often an ankle tackle away.
At some point he's gonna get in the clear and bust a long run. Nobody can catch this dude, and this weekend would be a great time to see him break some.
I think the gameplan is to take control of the game with Shipley and Mafah. Bring the safeties in, then maybe DJ can finally connect on a long ball or two.

Louisville loses top cover corner Clark to torn ACL
Louisville's top cover corner, Kei'Trel Clark, will miss the remainder of this season after tearing his left ACL Saturday night, coach Scott Satterfield said Monday. He's the third Cardinals starter lost to a season-ending injury.
