Serious Question
Sep 17, 2014, 4:03 PM
|
|
How much does the pressure on Jimbo and FSU to sit him the whole game intensify over the next two days? And, as we have seen with NFL organizations lately, does that pressure eventually force their hand?

Same as the NFL..When the school and athletic department start getting phone calls from advertisers and threats to lose sponsors. Unfortunately this incident does not compare to the prior rape charge, when everyone seemed to turn a blind eye.

given the context of his tantrum and his history, I'd say it's at least relevant to the issue. More importantly, it is yet one more distraction in his long history of moronic actions.

the media is still way to distracted with Adrian Peterson doing something thousands of parents all over the South do on a regular basis.

with a belt and a switch and I turned out just fine. Paid for college on my own, never been in trouble, remained a Clemson fan and didn't covert to usuc, attends church, raising a wonderful three year old. See...a little trip behind the woodshed never hurts anyone.

Now I'm not saying Peterson didn't cross the line and use excessive force, but it seems like he realized that as soon as it happened and was contrite about it.

with switches, belts, paddles and flyswatters. Although I'm sure I deserved most of not all of them, the parents and the grandparents never drew blood. There is a difference, a big difference, between tough love and abuse.

I haven't seen the pictures because I don't want to. What does draw blood mean? I know to a prosecutor trying to make a case that could mean a scratch.

I'm shocked they are sitting him at all. Out of all the accusations, this seems to be pale in comparison to the others. Maybe someone is just tired of his bs.

during the entire rape investigation. On that basis, does anyone really expect FSU to take any further acton over the recent profanity laced tirade which is fairly benign in comparison? I certainly don't.

If we get 3-4 touchdowns ahead early, it would not surprise me to send Jameis in the first half.

Elsewise, JW wouldn't have been thrown off the team when the rape allegations surfaced a year ago.

The fact that the statement came from the President

The fact that the statement came from the President instead of just the AD and Jimbo is what we should be looking at. It seems as if the academic side of FSU is rightly embarrassed and is finally stepping in to exert control. I bet there was a tense meeting on the length of the suspension and the compromise was a half. I certainly feel that could change if more heat gets put on the school and it looks as if more embarrassment will be coming their way.
