two meetings in a row? I know last year was supposed to be at home, but why couldn't they have given us our home game and go to Cola next year and just change the pattern (year-wise)?

Would have screwed up our OOC scheduling matrix...

In the years where our other big non-conference game is on the road, we have SC at home. And vice versa.

Otherwise the scheduling gets wonked up.

It would have messed up too many other scheduling metrics. We want SC game to be at home when FSU is away and they want Clemson game at home when UGA is away. Those schedules stayed on the same rotation so the Palmetto Bowl had to as well. It wasnt a perfect outcome but I think all sides agreed it just had to be that way.

The SEC canceled it last year. They should have been forced to come to Death Valley this year and next too. Would not have messed up a thing with scheduling.
