on TigerNet who are certain the Tigers are out. If not members of the committee, they must have bugs planted in the meeting room.

Selection to the NCAAT is not based on opinions or feelings; it is based on hard cold facts that have been pretty much only been slightly tweaked over the past 25 years or so.
The criteria are spelled out, and the committee has made no secret over the years as to what it values. That is why most people who follow this all season long and have done so for decades ALWAYS get 65 or 66 or 67 of the 68 teams right (Joe L is average at best in his selections)
The numbers do not lie, they are not biased against Clemson, and they are not silly. Beating NCST 3 times counts for 3% of the season and 3% of the evaluation. Finishing 3rd in the ACC is meaningless, conference finish is not mentioned in the book anywhere. Winning X number of games means nothing if the wins are over crap teams and the losses to even crapper teams. The ACC always gets X does not mean a thing because history does not matter. This is not the ACC of old, this is the watered-down cluster that has become the 7th best conference after years of bad coaches, bad hires, and other stupid decisions.
The committee has said for years that nonconference is important, and Clemson had the worse nonconference schedule of any P6 conference and still managed to lose 2 of those games.
The nonconference SOS is embarrassing, the Strength of Wins is bad, the ACC is the worse it has EVER been, the 4 bad losses are 4 more than Clemson could afford with this joke nonconference schedule and the numbers show it. Clemson would not have made it with a win last night and loss in the finals today and anyone who follows this thing all season knows it.
Out of 107 blogs, websites, gurus, podcasts, blogs, media companies, etc who report brackets, Clemson has not been in the field for weeks and NOT ONE OF THOSE BRACKETS had Clemson in the field of 68 since the bad losses in Feb.
This is not rocket science and is easy to see and follow. Clemson dug itself a hole with the losses to Loyola and a bad, very bad USC team. They pulled out of the hole early with a good start against the bottom of the ACC and then stepped into royally at BC and Louisville. The bad ACC, not playing the op of the conference, and the crapfest of a non-conference schedule doomed Clemson and left no room for error. There were four major errors, and the result is now the NIT.

You are wrong about a couple of things.

First of all, beating NC State 3 times accounts for almost 10% of our season. If it were only 3%, we would’ve had to play 100 games.
There are currently 6 brackets that have us in the field. You said not one, and you were wrong.
If the criteria are so straightforward, and it’s just a simple calculation, then there should be no speculation. But there is speculation, because the committee is comprised of humans who not only look at numbers but also watch games.

Maybe they didn’t see the horrible SC and Louisville loss.
Maybe we do have a chance.

Or, people who have taken 3 minutes to educate themselves on our actual likelihood of making the bracket. Is there a chance? Yes. Is it a good chance? Absolutely no.

After the OP, it's comments from people with their feelings hurt.
It's ok boys, you gripe away. No one is taking the Talking Stick away from any of you.

No, we have knowledge of how the selections are made. It's not a secret. Like the process or not, they will follow it. . . and have followed it in past years.
