Humble rant coming at you all

Let’s be real here, all of us wanted our women to be happy & well adjusted but D Rad ruined it for all of us! ??
We all know we need an equestrian program, our country was built using horses, the history is so rich & they have given us so much. They were our transportation, our support animals, they worked the fields, they were American house power, they were our ambulance’s to medical help, delivered our mail, carried our ?? money, they provided jobs, they even saved our lives through providing antiventom, they are service animals, they made our military possible & they entertain us along thousands of other uses.
Why we chose to not let these wonderful animals not be apart of our sports program under the guise we can’t afford them, no we couldn’t have afforded to have Clemson without them.
I guess I could take Clemson to court for trading out the hooves that helped them but I’m going to let this go!
We all know it’s ridiculous for them to not bless these women that have given us so much with what every woman loves a majestic wonderful horse that could have taken our women to the olympics & given Clemson gold medals ??
I’m not going to be on of these complaining fans but why would we not have a world class equestrian program, we could have been the new Lexington Kentucky for horses. It would have helped the local economy but no we go cheap with a stick & a ball. What could have been would have been a world class sport that would have encouraged Clemson with a classy classic sport.
If we decide to add any future sports Equestrian is the trend of the future, our women are worth it too.
These photos are from the camps at the barn the last few days!
The judge was a Clemson graduate who agreed about us having an equestrian program.
Go lady Tigers!

How are we to take you seriously when you don’t know the difference between a horse and a unicorn? Those would give our future equestrian program a slight advantage with their powers.

It's a shame his ears are laid back like that. Any horse photo is pretty much ruined if the ears aren't erect and pointed forward.

Thank You, this is an awesome story for an animal lover like myself. IMO, Sgt Reckless was a true Hero if there is such a thing as a Hero.
From the story, the men she served, they loved and respected her as a Marine, and not just a horse, and rightfully so, bc of her bravery, a lot of American Marines survived a nasty battle!!!

With the facilities already in place at Clemson (T.Ed Garrison) it would have been a perfect fit. They are beautiful animals that are smarter than a certain group of people in this country.
The whole women playing lacrosse thing just bores me. Would have made more sense to go with Men’s Wrestling yet I doubt what is of most interest in this particular area was ever considered.
Having said that , if I’m A.D. , I’m dropping certain sports rather than adding. Focus purely on Football,Baseball, Basketball , and Golf and go win championships

Now, I could definitely see going with equestrian over gymnastics. There are lots of young ladies who love their horses!

Wake Forest, Virginia Tech & NC state(Duke used to have a team too but I’m not sure if they still do?) have Equestrian teams that compete across the country. We were overflow for Wake Forest until they got a bigger facility. Before we moved our Barn out of Forsyth County. I’m sure their are more ACC teams but I really don’t have the details to speak on these.
It does teach these young people to care & love something besides themselves. It is a competitive sport & you have to be in incredible shape to ride in competitions.
Coots have Equestrian teams too.
Here is the league Auburn, Coots & college of Charleston are in. https://collegiateequestrian.com/sports/2020/5/6/schools.aspx

Plus, every engine, or motor used today in any use, it is defined by it's Horse Power. And that is bc Horses provided America with it's needed power to begin the construction of our awesome country, and other countries around the world with the exception where elephants were plentiful, but we never hear anything described with elephant power!!!!!
I absolutely love Horses, and they are some of the smartest animals on our planet, and they are so easy to train to do whatever you need them for.
I have owned a couple of Horses during my younger life time. But if I could afford the one Horse breed that I've always thought was the most magnificent Horse breed in the world, I would have a Friesian living out behind my house today, and I would spend most of my time out back with him/her. The Friesian is an awesome animal, IMPO!!!

We love Friesian‘s too, my daughters 1st World Championship win was on Gooitzen fan who is Breyer horses 30th anniversary edition.
The Grey Boy unicorn is just 3 1/2 years old, he showed his first time two weeks ago with ears up, his ears back in the picture is him being sweet to the little girl if they laid all the way back with wide eyes ?? he would be mad lol. They are so expressive.
The 1st picture is my daughter on a victory pass on a Frisian “Gootzen Fan” after winning the World Championship in Virginia. For the record we didn’t own Gooitzen fan my daughter was privileged to ride for the owner as this horses value was between $750k & a Million. He passed last year & he was insured by the owner. We do have the privilege of owning World Champion Sangria Splash but her value isn’t in that ball park....lol
The next picture is my Daughter winning the over all a few years back..
The last one is 2 time World Champion “Sangria Splash”, my daughter will be showing her tomorrow night in Raleigh, she’s a handful as the best ones are always a little high strung but very beautiful.

That is just totally awesome Humble, and I'm seriously happy for your daughter!!!!
Even though I would love to own a Friesian, I don't think that the hot weather, and the high humidity is a good environment for a Friesian bc, they are prone to developing shin rashes, and I wouldn't want to cause those problems for a Horse that I owned.
So if I was going to own another Horse while living in SC, I would want a smooth gaited walking Horse, preferably a Tennessee Walking Horse. Be assured that if I had a Tennessee Walking Horse, I would never build up or weight his front hooves to make him look cool. They are a sure footed breed, and when I see that an owner has built up their front hooves with pads, or weighted their feet to force them to high step, it pissses me off!!!

That’s awesome, we have Saddlebreds & a Morgan who shows in the same class. We don’t weight their hooves or cut their tails, we believe it’s good enough to show them natural. We also don’t use crazy training methods either like using bands or firecrackers.
Tennessee Walkers are very pretty too, I agree they shouldn’t be weighted especially the way many do just to get high stepping. They step high enough when they are young & no horse deserves the damage it causes.
Our horses get the best care available no matter their age or breed.
My Daughter has Lupus & has had two heart surgeries as a teenager it affects her muscles & nerves & this is her dream to have her own academy barn & teach, she’s very gifted as a rider & teacher. We do it for her and the many kids she helps.

We were an all-male military school

We were an all-male military school & now Clemson University for the first time is about to have more women enrolled than men.
We've come a LONG way, and you're not wrong at all----don't forget the agricultural programs & importance here, too. Frankly I'm surprised, but it would surprise me even more if we don't add in an equine program. Clemson has the space (i.e., owns the land, including plenty out near some of the ag centers).
Bottom line, adding the new women's teams have been important even if they were unavoidable to meet compliance, but it's definitely something to celebrate & look forward to new sports in the future. Dabo changed the ENTIRE game here, make no mistake!

He’s beautiful, we have had 3 Thorobreds in the past, we had one named “Traveler” he was a pocket pet he would follow you like a puppy dog with his head inches from your right shoulder besides your head everywhere you went.
Loved this horse to death he was so muscular all over but we don’t race horses so we sold him to somebody that would train him in what he loved to do.

The Equestrian Team has been around for years. Our daughter was a member plus was a captain for her final 2 yrs. They got very little money, had to raise most of it on their own. They still competed regionally and nationally and placed very well. Nobody knew about them. One former jock told me,”I never knew CU had an equestrian team. Of course not, all $$ flows through big sports programs. Yes, I love the big three(football, basketball and baseball). ” They actually won regionals with coots team competing and won. Look up Clemsonequestrian. Open your eyes folks. And, it wasn’t just something for her to do while at CU. She has been a rider since she was 4yrs old. Married a fellow Tiger and is employed by the United States Equestrian Federation.

We show in Clemson 3-4 times a year and we love it there. I knew they had a team but I was talking about a scholarship supported program. We have a couple of Judges on our Circuit that are Clemson Graduates, they always make a point of bragging on Clemson no matter where they are Judging via the intercom system.

I still have several friends I showed with who were members of the Clemson team back in the day. Back then (or now) not much for the guys at college programs, We just are the ones who got paid to do the training lol. Still, but in the 80s Larry Hyatt and others were putting together a solid equine program, laid the groundwork for the new Arena etc. prior to that we always did 4H state at the State Fairgrounds, once the Garrison Arena was built it was a game changer. I personally would love to see a ladies equestrian program, but we know it would also be a loss in the ledger book FO SHO! Go Tigers!
