Most of the fastest 40 times last few years are not from

the sec. They must be on a different fastest sec player list, at least when espn presents it. Chris Johnson was ECU, right? Jacoby Ford and Heyward-Bey are ACC. Tavon Austin and that Texas guy this year are Big XII. It's just confusing. Where's the sec speed?

Not true even many of the fastest 40 times on DL and OL are from other conferences.

It is not always about who can run the fastest in a straight line. There is football speed to consider, reaction time, being in the right place to start with etc..

No it is not but the 40 combined with the vertical is an indication of initial explosiveness and the SEC does not have any better numbers than any other conference even at the LOS

I know the 40 isn't the greatest indicator of football

ability, but it does indicate how full of crap cbs and espn are with their sec speed lines. What do you expect when you staff your company with sec educated journalists?
