We built one about 3 years ago and had about 500 in it. That Included all materials, paint concrete etc.... you can go on Pinterest and find some pretty good plans for building one of you don’t have have a design in mind.

Not to disagree with Double, but you should be able to build one for 200. Don't use concrete. Recycle metal pipes and drive them in the ground by the 4 legs and attach to legs with recycled wire or cable. Decrease the size of your box to 4x6 and you can use one sheet of plywood for the floor and one for the top. Use 2x4's for shooting rails all around. Look for used, treated ones at a used lumber yard. Use nylon sheeting all around. You may have to dye it but dyeing is cheap if you do it yourself. Look for used school desks for chairs at a thrift store. They are heavy and the wind won't blow them over. I cut the desk part off with a metal grinder.

It all depends on what you build it out of, i.e. how

sturdy and strong you make it.
And what kind of materials you can get for free or a bargain.
You could make one easily for a couple hundred of spend a thousand depending on how much you want to impress your friends.
I'd go for the cheaper way. Then you can build two or three.
And by the way, the deer won't care what it looks like.

Need a high end like “Red Neck Blinds”, but don’t want something just thrown together. Have a guy offering to build it for me($150 plus cost of materials). Just wondering dollar wise what I’m looking at total.

$150 sounds like a deal.

The materials should cost that.
Make sure the openings are in the right place for your seat and the area you're hunting for a good rifle rest. The narrower (height-wise) the better. Is it for an open area/pasture?

Yep. There’s deals everywhere, you just gotta look. Lowes or Home Depot has cull lumber that is half the price. Look on Craigslist or OfferUp or letgo. People have wood left over from projects all the time, not to mention lots of other materials.

I build a couple of these every summer for people. $500 is a good average price.
$200 May build one but it won’t be fully enclosed and it won’t last more than a season or two.

Nope. Been using mine for 7 years now and will probably get a couple out of them. Used treated everything and they will last. Untreated- only 2-3 years

If you paint every couple of years, 6-8 years life span with regular wood.

Building it your self 3- 4X8 sheets of plywood, about 5- 2X4x8, 3-2X6X10 and some ex-terrier camo paint, 20 & 16 penny nails for framing, and 8 or 10 penny for nailing on the plywood. This is for a 4X4X8 ft blind, and plenty big enough for 2 people. And it won't be more than a $150 bucks using none finished plywood, 3/8 inch thick.

If you live close to cootlumbia, I'll help you throw it together, and you can take to where you want it. Or we can cut it out and put it together at the hunting spot.

If you wanna make it nice, you'll need concrete for the footers but go ahead and lay piping for septic and drain field first. Then just 2X8s for the seal and just do a stick frame. Wrap it in tyvek and if you want it to last a while, I'd say use plank siding or brick. If you're planning on using heat, either a wood stove or central hvac system. You can make it spacious, 100 to 1500 sq ft...plenty of room to add a cooking station/kitchen or sleeping quarters with a mattress if it's a long hunting trip.

I used to hunt in Eastover

I made one helluva tower stand about six years ago. It was a 4x6 with about 6’ of standing in the middle. It had a trap door and I built a staircase underneath the stand with make-shift hand rails. The tower was built on 16’ 4x4s roughly 3-4’ in the ground. This thing was in the sky when it was all done. It had recycled windows with 1/2” plywood walls and a metal roof. It was pretty much sealed up from the outside elements. Eventually an exec char was put in along with a a lil Mr Heater. Talk about “Playboy” Hunting! I didn’t even go to the stand wearing Camo bc there was not need to. All I wore was an insulated one-piece carhart suit and a good pr of boots. I’d get in that stand at 530 and fell asleep. I’ve prolly missed some of the biggest bucks in my life bc I was sleeping. If you have young kids you understand the value of sleep and the only way I knew I could get it was in the deer stand. Any ways, back to ur topic. By the time you get this whole stand done you may have about $250 invested in materials and no telling in labor. May I suggest a good tripod? I have two and man they are versatile. They can be easy to move around your property. It’s typically made out of metal so no boards failing when nails begin to back out. Bout the only thing you have to worry about is wind so a good anchor in the ground or to a nearby tree is crucial. I’ve found my 15’ tripod on the ground a few times before I attached to to a tree a few feet away. I also have one of those 6-7’ tripods and man it’s great when hunting a cutdown during a dog drive. It’s nice to be elevated a lil bit and my shot aimed at the ground instead of sideways toward the next hunter. Academy and Sportsmans have sold two-person tripods and if I remember were less than $300. Yes they are a bear to stand up urself so a buddy makes things easier. I have moved my tripods around a tract many of times and moved it to other hunting sites in other counties. I no longer hunt in Eastover so that’s $400, blood, sweat and tears that someone else is prolly taking advantage of now. My tripods are cold but I still have them ten yrs later.

Man, we're gonna need to know more than the square footage of the floor plan.

You could probably price it out pretty easily.

4x4x12's, for example, are $18 on the local Lowes website and you need at least 4 of those. A couple bags of the post set Quickrete that you don't have to mix @ $5 each. 2x4's, plywood, box of screws, etc.

Make your blind out of scaffolding....3 bunks high with the roof over the top rails. You can thank me later.
