Now many of the “Clemson Basketball Fans”

will began a resting period until the next game when they can hope for a destruction of Clemson so they can put all their anger onto one man. These “fans” didn’t get the outcome they desired but this is a very needed resting period for them as complaining on a message board for two weeks is a very tiring process.

LOL it was Pitt I’m sure everyone knew we would win last night. You do realize they are pretty much starting their whole basketball program over .

We were favored by 10. I predicted we would win by 15. We won by 13. I think we finish the year strong. It's about making the tournament though. At the end of the year we can judge. The tournament or the season is a bust.

judge at the end of the season but people call for our coaches head immediately after a loss to a ranked team on the road because of a hail mary type shot going in

I for one am not looking for a destruction of Clemson Basketball. Rather, I'm hoping for more consistency. We are currently 2-5 in ACC play, currently around 11th in league play, not including last nights other games. Forget for a moment Duke, UNC, even Virginia. It's those teams in the middle of the pack that has me concerned. Of those 5 losses,3 came on the road at Syracuse, FSU, and N.C.State.There is no reason, except one(and I'll get to that in a moment)that we can't compete, and even win games against the middle of the league, and win those on the road. So what is the reason, Recruiting. Syracuse and even N.C.State are not the top 10 teams they used to be. Yet Brownell can't seem to get this program consistently in the middle of a 15 team league. And that's what makes me tired.

NC State: still a ranked team which we were one basket away from winning. That was tough... that is just how it happens on the road. The team played fine, the result was heartbreaking.
Syracuse. Our big men scored 25, their big men scored 33. We lost by 8. Mitchel was having a bad game and we were mismatched from the get-go on the road.
Florida State: We ran out of depth/shooting when FSU was near 50% from 3.
Recruiting: Maybe. This is a flawed roster. The big men are suspect, and Mitchell is very prone to disappearing. We lack a consistant #2 (really a 1B) with Reed to lean on. We are a DeVoe or Grantham away from being behind the normal powers.

Losing to Syracuse, FSU, and NC State on the road

is not something to be upset about. Of course we want to win all of our games, and we should've beaten NC State on Saturday, but it is not cause for alarm or overreaction.
We were 1-5 against these exact same teams last year, a year which was one of our best in program history. Things turned out okay. The difference is that these six games were not clustered together to start the ACC season last year.
Let's see how the season plays out before we freak out, okay?

Congratulations to the men's basketball team on a well needed victory. But let's not start celebrating too much. We can't expect to shoot 52% from the 3 pt. line every game. We need to learn how to finish a game. Leading by 26 points with 2:08 to play and winning by 13 points is concerning. During that time we committed four fouls, had three turnovers, and shot 0-3. We make mental errors that don't equate to good basketball such as dibbling to the half court line on a press and getting trapped. No passing to break a press, just the point guard dribbling, which caused two turnovers. And finally, shooting the ball with 22 seconds on the shot clock after an offensive rebound when we should be running out the clock. These are things that good teams don't do.
