The best addition the ACC could make would be

Nov 27, 2012, 11:55 AM

Navy

1. It brings back the Baltimore and DC markets, plus national interest.

2. It fills the hole in the contiguous footprint left when Maryland left.

3. They have just as good a football team as Maryland and we already have plenty of basketball teams.

4. Academics are supreme

5. Leaves us at 14, with the door still open to Notre Dame some who will be more likely to join knowing one of hteir must-play games would be a conference game.

6. THen it is up to FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, Miami, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, North Carolina to build our football reputation. They are more than capable of doing it. FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech could be the big dogs most of the time and would have their years vs other big dogs from other conferences.

I really wish they would invite Navy and be done with it.

No for one reason.

I would never want another triple option team in the ACC.

Could you imagine if we played 2 games, played Navy, played 2more games, then played GT?

Our players ankles and knees would never recover.

and thru wofford in there for good measure and an ooc game.***

Open the season with wofford, start ACC play with Navy

Nov 27, 2012, 12:00 PM

finish with GT

So.... do we have enough scholarship players at the end that are able to start on the line?

we forgot wake and grobe's affinity for the cut block...

I understand that comment and where its coming from, but

I think Navy is better than that. I think they would be competitive enough. They would serve a purpose. They're scheduled to join the Big East in 2014 anyway.

Probably, for the very reason you stated, it will not happen, but I wuld like to see it.

the SEC adds Texas A&M and Mizzou

Nov 27, 2012, 12:01 PM

and we talk about adding a military academy...wow....

Nope, Louisville

Nov 27, 2012, 12:08 PM

Better football program and getting stronger. Strong commitment to improving football (just expanded their stadium), have made three good coaching hires out of the last four coaches. And most important of all, I live in Louisville and if they were in Clemson's division I could see Clemson play in Papa John's stadium every other year!

If we are going to stay in the ACC (and we are), the choice should be Louisville for the reasons mentioned above.

And if we don't get Louisville...then it better be bye bye

ACC! You wouldn't be missed. At all.
